Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker. Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Inner Cooking Pot: The nonstick inner pot should be hand washed with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the nonstick coating.
- Steam Tray & Accessories: The steam tray, rice measuring cup, and serving spatula are also recommended for hand washing.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
- Lid: The lid should be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Ensure no food particles are left in the lid's crevices.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your rice cooker, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Rice is too hard/dry: Ensure the correct water-to-rice ratio was used according to the cooking chart. Make sure the lid was securely closed during cooking.
- Rice is too soft/mushy: Reduce the amount of water slightly for the next batch. Ensure rice was rinsed properly.
- Cooker does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the cooker and a working electrical outlet.
- Steam escaping from sides of lid: Ensure the lid is properly closed and sealed. Check for any food debris preventing a tight seal.
- Food sticks to inner pot: Ensure the nonstick coating is not damaged. Use only plastic or wooden utensils.
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
