Setup
1. Placement
Position the projector on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The GT750 is a short-throw projector, allowing for large images from a short distance. Due to the absence of lens shift or significant zoom, precise placement relative to your screen is crucial for optimal image alignment.
2. Power Connection
- Connect the power cord to the projector's power inlet.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Press the power button on the projector or remote control to turn on the unit.
3. Initial Image Adjustment
- Focus: Rotate the focus ring on the projector lens until the image is sharp and clear.
- Keystone Correction: If the image appears trapezoidal, use the keystone correction function in the projector's menu to adjust it to a rectangular shape.
Connecting Devices
The Optoma GT750 offers various input options for connecting your devices.
- HDMI: Connect Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, or computers using an HDMI cable. The projector supports HDMI 1.4a for 3D content.
- DisplayPort: Connect compatible devices using a DisplayPort cable.
- VGA (PC): Use a VGA cable to connect a computer.
- Composite Video: For older video sources, use a composite video cable.
- Audio Input/Output: Connect external audio sources or speakers if desired, though the projector has a built-in 10-watt speaker.
After connecting a device, select the appropriate input source using the projector's menu or the remote control.
Operating the Projector
1. Power On/Off
- Press the Power button on the projector or remote control to turn the unit on.
- Press the Power button twice to turn the unit off. Allow the projector to cool down before unplugging.
2. Menu Navigation
Use the arrow buttons on the projector or remote to navigate through the on-screen display (OSD) menu. The Enter button confirms selections, and the Menu button exits the current menu.
3. 3D Operation
The GT750 supports 3D content via HDMI 1.4a. To view 3D content:
- Connect a 3D-compatible source (e.g., Blu-ray player) via HDMI.
- Ensure your 3D content is playing.
- Wear compatible DLP Link 120Hz 3D glasses or RF 3D glasses (if using an RF emitter).
- The projector should automatically detect the 3D signal. If not, check the 3D settings in the OSD menu.
Maintenance
1. Lamp Care
- The lamp has a limited lifespan. Replace it when the image becomes dim or a lamp warning indicator appears.
- Always allow the projector to cool down completely before replacing the lamp.
- Use only genuine Optoma replacement lamps.
2. Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the projector casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Lens: Gently clean the lens with a lens cleaning cloth and specialized lens cleaning solution. Avoid touching the lens with bare hands.
- Air Filters: Regularly check and clean the air filters to ensure proper ventilation and prevent overheating. Refer to the full user manual for filter location and cleaning instructions.
