2. Package Contents

  • Weighmax W-px100 Digital Pocket Scale
  • Clear Protective Tray/Weighing Container
  • 2 x AAA Batteries
  • Instruction Manual

3. Setup

  1. Battery Installation: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Initial Placement: Place the scale on a rigid, horizontal, and flat surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid unstable or uneven surfaces.
  3. Acclimation: For optimal accuracy, allow the scale to acclimate to normal room temperature for at least one hour before use.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Turning On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button to switch the scale on. The LCD will display '0.0' or '0.00' when ready. To turn off the scale, press the ON/OFF button again.
  2. Changing Weighing Units: Press the MODE button to cycle through the available weighing units: grams (g), ounces (oz), pennyweights (dwt), carats (ct), and grains (gn).
  3. Tare Function: To subtract the weight of a container (e.g., the clear protective tray), place the empty container on the weighing platform. Wait for the display to stabilize, then press the TARE button. The display will reset to '0.0'/'0.00', allowing you to weigh only the contents.
  4. Weighing Items: Place the item(s) to be weighed directly on the platform or in a tared container. Wait for the display to stabilize to get an accurate reading.
  5. Using the Clear Tray: The clear protective tray can be placed directly on the weighing platform to hold items, especially those that might roll off. Remember to use the TARE function if weighing items within the tray.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the scale in a clean, dry environment. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents, and proximity to other electronic equipment can affect accuracy.
  • Handle the scale with care. Avoid shaking or dropping the scale, as it is a precision instrument and can be permanently damaged.
  • Operating temperature range: 32°F - 104°F (0°C - 40°C).

6. Calibration

Although your scale was calibrated before shipping, due to gravity differences globally, a time-to-time calibration will ensure your scale remains accurate. A calibration weight (not included) is required for this process.

  1. Reset the scale by pressing the ON/OFF key.
  2. Wait until the LCD displays '0.0'/'0.00'. Then, press and hold the MODE key for 3 seconds. The LCD will display 'CAL'. Release the MODE key.
  3. Press the MODE key again. The LCD will display 'CAL' followed by the required calibration weight (e.g., 'CAL 100g' for a 100g scale).
  4. Carefully place the required calibration weight onto the center of the weighing platform. The display will show 'PASS' and then return to normal weighing mode.
  5. Remove the calibration weight and press ON/OFF to turn off the scale. Calibration is now complete.
