Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Simran AR-1500 Deluxe Voltage Regulator/Stabilizer and Step Up/Down Converter. This device is designed to convert voltage between 110/120V and 220/240V, and to stabilize fluctuating input voltages to a consistent output. Please read these instructions thoroughly before use.
Important Safety Instructions
- Read all instructions: Before operating the unit, ensure you have read and understood all safety and operating instructions.
- Proper Wattage: Do not exceed the maximum rated wattage of 1500 Watts. For appliances with motors, heating elements, or laser printers, allow a safety margin of 3-4 times the appliance's rated wattage for surge capacity.
- Ventilation: Place the unit in a well-ventilated area. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Do not operate with wet hands.
- Grounding: Ensure the unit is properly grounded.
- Children: Keep out of reach of children.
- Disconnection: Always disconnect the unit from the power source when not in use or before cleaning.
- Damage: Do not operate the unit if the cord or plug is damaged, or if the unit has been dropped or damaged in any way. Contact qualified service personnel.

Product Overview

This image displays the front of the Simran AR-1500 Deluxe Voltage Regulator/Stabilizer. It features a power switch with an indicator lamp, an analog meter showing output voltage, and three power outlets. Two outlets are universal, accepting various international plugs, and one accepts US 3-prong, 2-prong, and Euro/Asian 2-prong plugs. The unit has a heavy-duty metal casing.
The Simran AR-1500 unit features a front panel with an On/Off switch, an indicator lamp, an analog voltage meter, and multiple output sockets. The rear panel includes the input voltage selector switch and the main power cord.
Setup and Connection
- Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the AR-1500 from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
- Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
- Set Input Voltage: Locate the input voltage selector switch on the back of the unit. Crucially, set this switch to match the voltage of the wall outlet you will be plugging the AR-1500 into (either 110/120V or 220/240V). Incorrect setting can damage the unit and connected appliances.
- Connect to Power: Plug the AR-1500's power cord into a suitable wall outlet matching the selected input voltage.
- Connect Appliances: Plug your appliance(s) into the appropriate output sockets on the front of the AR-1500. Ensure the total wattage of all connected appliances does not exceed 1500 Watts.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: After connecting the unit and appliances, press the On/Off switch on the front panel. The indicator lamp will illuminate.
- Monitor Output Voltage: Observe the analog meter on the front panel. It displays the exact output voltage being supplied to your connected appliances. This voltage will be stabilized to approximately 110V ±4% or 220V ±4%, depending on the selected output.
- Voltage Conversion: The unit automatically converts the voltage based on the input and output connections. If the input is 110/120V and you connect an appliance requiring 220/240V, the unit steps up the voltage. If the input is 220/240V and you connect an appliance requiring 110/120V, the unit steps down the voltage.
- Power Off: To turn off the unit, press the On/Off switch. The indicator lamp will turn off. Disconnect appliances and unplug the unit from the wall when not in use for extended periods.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Fuse Replacement: The AR-1500 is fuse protected. If the unit stops functioning, the fuse may have blown. Unplug the unit, locate the fuse holder (typically on the rear panel), and replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating. Two extra fuses are included with your unit.
- Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- Unit does not power on:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the unit.
- Verify the wall outlet has power.
- Check the fuse and replace if blown (refer to Maintenance section).
- No output voltage:
- Ensure the unit is powered on.
- Confirm the input voltage selector switch is set correctly for your region's power supply.
- Check if the connected appliance is working correctly by plugging it directly into a wall outlet (if safe to do so).
- Output voltage is incorrect or unstable:
- Ensure the total load of connected appliances does not exceed 1500 Watts. Overloading can cause instability.
- Verify the input voltage selector switch is correctly set.
- Unit makes unusual noise or smells:
- Immediately turn off and unplug the unit.
- Do not attempt to repair. Contact customer support.
