Setup
Powering the Mixer
The mixer can be powered by a 9V battery or an optional AC adapter.
- Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Connect a 9V battery to the battery clip and place it inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.
- AC Adapter Connection: If using an AC adapter (not included), plug its barrel connector into the DC 9V jack on the rear panel of the mixer. Plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.
Connecting Microphones
Connect up to four microphones to the 1/4-inch MIC 1-4 input jacks located on the front edge of the mixer.
Connecting Auxiliary Audio Sources
The mixer provides two sets of stereo RCA auxiliary inputs (AUX 1 and AUX 2) on the rear panel. Connect line-level audio sources such as CD players, tape decks, or other audio devices to these inputs using RCA cables.
Connecting to an Amplifier or Recording Device
Connect the stereo RCA OUTPUT jacks on the rear panel of the mixer to the input jacks of your amplifier, powered speakers, or recording device.
Operating
Power On/Off
Slide the POWER switch on the front panel to the ON position to turn on the mixer. Slide it to OFF to turn off the mixer.
Adjusting Channel Levels
Each of the four channels (CHANNEL 1-4) has a dedicated slide-action fader. Move the fader up to increase the volume for that channel and down to decrease it. Adjust these faders to achieve the desired mix of your audio sources.
Mono/Stereo Selector
The MONO/STEREO switch allows you to select the output mode:
- STEREO: Combines the left and right signals from each channel into a stereo output.
- MONO: Combines all input signals into a single monaural output.
Select the appropriate mode based on your audio setup and desired sound.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the mixer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
Battery Replacement
When the BATTERY LOW indicator illuminates, replace the 9V battery promptly to ensure uninterrupted operation and prevent potential leakage.
Storage
If storing the mixer for an extended period, remove the 9V battery to prevent leakage and potential damage. Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your mixer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Sound Output:
- Ensure the mixer is powered on and the POWER switch is in the ON position.
- Check all audio cable connections to ensure they are secure and correctly plugged into the appropriate input/output jacks.
- Verify that the channel faders are raised to an audible level.
- Confirm that the connected amplifier or recording device is powered on and its volume is adjusted appropriately.
- If using battery power, check the BATTERY LOW indicator. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the input level of the audio source or the channel fader to prevent clipping.
- Ensure all cables are in good condition and not damaged.
- BATTERY LOW Indicator On:
- The 9V battery is running low. Replace it with a fresh battery or use an AC adapter.
