Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the scale from its packaging. Inspect the device for any signs of damage. Keep the packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Battery Installation
The Laica PS1033 scale uses AAA alkaline batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Open the compartment cover and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
3. Placement
Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Uneven or soft surfaces (like carpets) can affect measurement accuracy.
Operating Instructions
1. Initializing the Scale
Before the first use, or if the scale has been moved, it is recommended to initialize it. Gently tap the center of the scale with your foot to turn it on. The display will show "0.0" or "CAL" and then turn off. This indicates the scale is ready for use.
2. Taking a Measurement
- Step onto the scale barefoot and stand still, distributing your weight evenly.
- The display will show your weight. Wait for the reading to stabilize.
- Step off the scale. The reading will remain on the display for a few seconds before the scale automatically turns off.
3. Unit Conversion (if applicable)
If your scale supports multiple units (e.g., kg, lb, st), there may be a button on the underside of the scale to switch between units. Refer to the markings near the button for available options.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Clean the scale surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Ensure the scale is dry before storage or next use.
2. Storage
Store the scale in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
3. Battery Replacement
If the display shows "Lo" or becomes dim, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section.
Troubleshooting
- No Display / Scale Not Turning On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface. Re-initialize the scale by tapping it to turn on and off before stepping on. Ensure you are standing still and centered.
- "Err" or "O-Ld" on Display: This usually indicates an overload. The scale's maximum capacity is 180 kg. Step off the scale immediately.
- "Lo" on Display: Batteries are low. Replace them.
