Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Always supervise children and non-swimmers.
  • Do not dive or jump into the pool.
  • Ensure the pool area is secure to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Keep electrical devices away from the pool.
  • Regularly inspect the pool structure for damage or wear.
  • Maintain proper water chemistry to prevent health issues.
  • Consult local building codes and ordinances regarding pool installation and fencing requirements.

Setup and Installation

The Blue Wave Belize pool is designed for do-it-yourself installation. Careful planning and adherence to these steps will ensure a successful setup.

1. Site Preparation

  • Select a level, firm area in your yard, free from overhead power lines and underground utilities.
  • Ensure the site is large enough to accommodate the 27-foot round pool and provide adequate space around it for safety and access.
  • Clear the area of all debris, rocks, roots, and sharp objects.
  • Level the ground thoroughly. A perfectly level base is critical for the structural integrity of the pool.

2. Unpacking and Parts Identification

Carefully unpack all components and verify against the included parts list. Familiarize yourself with the steel top rails, uprights, and resin top caps.

3. Pool Wall Assembly

  • Assemble the bottom track system on the prepared, level ground, forming a perfect 27-foot diameter circle.
  • Carefully unroll and install the steel pool wall into the bottom track. Ensure the wall is properly seated and secured.
  • Install the uprights, which provide vertical support, connecting the bottom and top track systems.
  • Attach the durable 6-inch steel top rails to the uprights, forming the upper perimeter of the pool.
  • Secure the resin top caps over the connections of the top rails and uprights. These caps are designed with UV inhibitors for enhanced durability.

4. Liner Installation (Liner Not Included)

A pool liner is essential for holding water and is not included with this pool package. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific liner type (e.g., overlap, beaded) to install it correctly. Ensure the liner is smooth and free of wrinkles before filling.

5. Filter System and Accessories

Install your chosen filter system, skimmer, and return fittings according to their respective manufacturer's instructions. Ensure all connections are secure and watertight.

Operating Instructions

1. Filling the Pool

  • Once the liner is installed and all connections are secure, begin filling the pool with water.
  • As the pool fills, smooth out any remaining wrinkles in the liner.
  • Fill the pool to the recommended operating level, typically halfway up the skimmer opening.

2. Water Chemistry

  • Test your pool water regularly using a reliable test kit.
  • Maintain proper levels of chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness according to industry standards.
  • Consult a pool professional for guidance on initial water balancing and ongoing chemical treatment.

3. Filter System Operation

  • Operate your filter system daily for at least 8-12 hours to ensure proper water circulation and filtration.
  • Backwash or clean your filter as recommended by its manufacturer to maintain efficiency.

Maintenance

1. Regular Cleaning

  • Skim debris from the water surface daily.
  • Brush the pool walls and floor weekly to prevent algae growth and remove dirt.
  • Vacuum the pool floor as needed.

2. Water Treatment

  • Continuously monitor and adjust water chemistry.
  • Shock the pool weekly or bi-weekly, especially after heavy use or rain.

3. Component Inspection

  • Periodically inspect the steel pool wall, uprights, and top rails for any signs of corrosion, rust, or damage. The zinc and aluminum coating provides superior protection, but regular checks are recommended.
  • Check resin top caps for cracks or degradation, especially due to UV exposure.
  • Ensure all fasteners are tight and secure.
  • Inspect the liner for tears, punctures, or stretching.

4. Winterization

Before freezing temperatures arrive, properly winterize your pool according to local climate conditions and pool professional recommendations. This typically involves lowering the water level, adding winterizing chemicals, and covering the pool.
