Operating Instructions

1. Setting the Alarm Time

To set the desired alarm time:

  1. Locate the "ALARM SET" knob on the back of the clock.
  2. Rotate the "ALARM SET" knob until the small red alarm hand on the clock face points to your desired alarm time.
  3. For precise setting, it is recommended to advance the main time hands past the desired alarm time to ensure the alarm hand is correctly positioned for AM/PM if applicable (though this is an analog clock, so it's a 12-hour cycle).

2. Activating/Deactivating the Alarm

The alarm is activated and deactivated using the ON/OFF switch located on the back of the clock.

  • To activate the alarm, slide the switch to the "ON" position.
  • To deactivate the alarm, slide the switch to the "OFF" position.
  • The twin bell alarm is designed to be loud and will continue ringing until manually turned off. This model does not feature a snooze function.

3. Using the Backlight

For viewing the time in low light conditions:

  • Press and hold the "LIGHT" button located on the back of the clock.
  • The clock face will illuminate. Release the button to turn off the backlight.
  • Note: The hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, have a luminous glow-in-the-dark feature for passive visibility in the dark.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the AA battery approximately every six months, or when the clock's accuracy diminishes or the backlight becomes dim.

  1. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.
  2. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

2. Cleaning

To clean the clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Clock not keeping accurate time or stops working.Battery is low or depleted. Replace with a fresh AA battery. Ensure battery is inserted with correct polarity.
Alarm does not sound.Ensure the alarm ON/OFF switch on the back is in the "ON" position. Check battery level and replace if necessary. Verify the alarm hand is correctly set.
Backlight is dim or not working.Battery is low. Replace with a fresh AA battery.
Audible ticking sound. This is normal for a quartz analog movement and not an indication of a defect. The sound may be more noticeable in quiet environments.
Alarm rings slightly before or after the set time.Due to the analog nature, minor variations in alarm activation time (a few minutes) can occur. This is typical for this type of mechanism.
