Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Sharp SPC500 LCD Alarm Clock operates on two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back or bottom of the clock.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Insert two new AAA batteries, matching the (+) and (-) terminals as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Initial Time Setting

After installing batteries, the display may flash or show a default time. Proceed to set the current time.

Operating Instructions

Setting the Current Time

  1. Locate the "TIME SET" button, usually on the back or side of the clock. Press and hold it until the time display begins to flash.
  2. Use the "HOUR" and "MINUTE" buttons (often labeled with arrows or +/-) to adjust the hours and minutes. Pay attention to the AM/PM indicator.
  3. Press "TIME SET" again to confirm the time and exit the setting mode.

Setting the Alarm Time

  1. Locate the "ALARM SET" button. Press and hold it until the alarm time display begins to flash.
  2. Use the "HOUR" and "MINUTE" buttons to adjust the desired alarm time. Observe the AM/PM indicator.
  3. Press "ALARM SET" again to confirm the alarm time.
  4. Ensure the alarm is activated by sliding the "ALARM ON/OFF" switch or pressing the "ALARM ON" button. An alarm icon (e.g., a bell) should appear on the display.

Snooze and Backlight Function

  • Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the large "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button on top of the clock to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a few minutes (typically 5-9 minutes).
  • Backlight: The clock features a backlight on demand. Press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button to illuminate the display for a few seconds, allowing you to view the time in low-light conditions.
