5. Setup
5.1 Power Connection
- Ensure the MS-704 power switch on the rear panel is in the 'OFF' position.

5.2 Connecting Intercom Devices
The MS-704 supports up to 40 RS-701 beltpacks, 10 speaker stations, or 12 headset stations.
- Connect your Clear-Com beltpacks, speaker stations, or headset stations to the Channel A, B, C, or D XLR connectors on the rear panel using standard 3-pin XLR cables.
- Ensure the 'On/Off' switch for each connected channel is set to 'On'.
- If connecting to the end of an intercom line, set the 'Term' switch for that channel to 'On' to properly terminate the line. For mid-line connections, set 'Term' to 'Off'.
5.3 Headset/Panel Mic Connection
- Connect your headset to the 4-pin XLR 'Headset' connector on the front panel.
- Alternatively, connect a panel microphone to the 'Panel Mic' jack.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on the unit, flip the power switch on the rear panel to the 'ON' position.
- To power off, flip the power switch to the 'OFF' position.
6.2 Basic Communication
- Listening: Press the green 'Listen' button for the desired channel (A, B, C, or D) to monitor audio on that channel. The button will illuminate when active.
- Talking: Press the blue 'Talk' button for the desired channel to speak on that channel. The button will illuminate when active. Release the button to stop talking.
- Adjusting Volume: Use the 'Volume' knob on the front panel to adjust the overall listening level for the speaker or headset.
6.3 Advanced Functions
- All Talk: Press the 'All Talk' button to communicate simultaneously on all active channels.
- Announce: Press the 'Announce' button to send an announcement through the designated announce output.
- Remote Mic Kill: Press the 'Remote Mic Kill' button to remotely disable the microphones on all connected beltpacks.
- Program Input: Connect an external audio source to the 'Program In' XLR on the rear panel. Adjust the 'Program Level' knob on the front panel to mix this audio into the intercom channels.
