4. Operating Instructions

Always consult a healthcare professional before performing ear irrigation. Ensure the patient is seated comfortably and the ear basin is positioned correctly to catch expelled water and cerumen.

  1. Position the Patient: Have the patient tilt their head slightly towards the ear basin, ensuring the ear to be irrigated is facing upwards.
  2. Insert Tip: Gently insert the OtoClear tip into the ear canal. The flared design helps prevent over-insertion.
  3. Select Mode: Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the irrigator. Use the 'Mode' button to select the desired pressure setting (Normal, Soft, or Pulse). Start with the 'Soft' mode and increase if necessary.
  4. Begin Irrigation: Direct the water flow towards the ear canal wall. The three divergent streams will gently dislodge and flush out earwax without directly impacting the eardrum.
  5. Monitor Flow: Continue irrigation until the ear canal is clear or the water reservoir is empty. Observe the expelled water in the ear basin for cerumen.
  6. Repeat if Necessary: If significant earwax remains, refill the reservoir and repeat the process. For stubborn wax, pre-softening with earwax drops may be recommended by a healthcare professional.
  7. Turn Off Device: Once irrigation is complete, turn off the irrigator and remove the tip from the ear.
