Installation Steps

  3. Identify Wires: This dimmer does not require a neutral wire. Identify the two load wires (hot and switched hot) and the ground wire.
  4. Connect New Dimmer: Connect the wires from the wall box to the corresponding wires on the Lutron CTCL-153P-WH dimmer switch using wire nuts. Ensure all connections are secure. Connect the ground wire.
  5. Mount Dimmer: Carefully push the wired dimmer switch into the wall box. Secure it with the provided mounting screws.
  6. Install Wallplate: Attach the Claro wallplate (sold separately) over the dimmer switch.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker.
  8. Test Dimmer: Test the dimmer switch to ensure proper operation.

Operating Your Dimmer Switch

The Lutron CTCL-153P-WH dimmer switch is designed for intuitive control of your lighting. It features two primary controls:

  • On/Off Rocker Switch: The larger bottom switch acts as a standard light switch. Press the top of the rocker to turn lights ON, and the bottom to turn lights OFF.
