6. Setup and Installation

6.1 Mounting

The EMX DTM-9-12V timer is designed for DIN rail mounting. Securely attach the unit to a standard DIN rail within an appropriate enclosure, ensuring adequate ventilation and protection from environmental elements.

6.2 Wiring

WARNING: All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician and in accordance with local electrical codes. Ensure power is disconnected before beginning any wiring procedures.

The timer features 5 screw terminals for connections. Refer to the wiring diagram provided on the unit itself or in the full product documentation for specific connection points for power input (12VDC/AC, 24VDC/AC, or 120VAC) and relay outputs (Normally Open, Normally Closed, Common) to your load device (e.g., gate opener, lock, light).

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Setting Current Time and Day

  1. Press the 'P' button (Program) to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the 'D+' button to set the current day of the week.
  3. Use the 'H+' button to set the current hour.
  4. Use the 'M+' button to set the current minute.
  5. Press the 'P' button again to exit time setting mode and save.

7.2 Programming ON/OFF Events

The timer supports up to 16 ON/OFF program events. Each event can be set for specific days or combinations of days.

  1. Press the 'P' button repeatedly until '1 ON' appears on the display. This is the first ON event.
  2. Use 'D+' to select the day(s) for this event (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU, or various combinations like MO-FR, SA-SU, etc.). There are 15 daily program options.
  3. Use 'H+' and 'M+' to set the desired ON time.
  4. Press 'P' again to advance to '1 OFF'. Set the day(s) and time for the first OFF event using 'D+', 'H+', and 'M+'.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for up to 16 ON/OFF events. If fewer than 16 events are needed, press 'P' until the display returns to the current time.

7.3 Manual Override

Press the 'MANUAL' button to cycle through different operating modes: ON, OFF, and AUTO. In AUTO mode, the timer operates according to the programmed schedule. Manual ON/OFF will override the program until the next scheduled event.

7.4 Resetting the Timer

To clear all settings and return the timer to factory defaults, use a pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the 'RESET' button. This will erase all programmed events and reset the current time.

The EMX DTM-9-12V timer requires minimal maintenance. Keep the unit clean and free from dust and moisture. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prolong the device's lifespan.
