Setup

1. Software Installation

  1. For Windows Users (XP/Vista/7/8/10):
    • Insert the provided software installation CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to install the AmScope software. This software includes advanced features such as stitching, Extended Depth of Focus (EDF), video recording, and measurement functions.
    • Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for optimal performance.
  2. For Mac OS X and Linux Users:
    • Insert the provided software installation CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to install the AmScope software. This software allows for still image capture, video recording, and control over color and exposure settings.

2. Camera Connection to Microscope

The MU800 camera is designed to fit various microscope eyepiece tubes or dedicated trinocular ports. It supports 23mm, 30mm, 30.5mm, and C-mount connections.

  • Identify the diameter of your microscope's eyepiece tube or trinocular port.
  • If your microscope has a 23mm tube, the camera can be inserted directly.
  • If your microscope has a 30mm tube, use the 23mm to 30mm mounting adapter.
  • If your microscope has a 30.5mm tube, use the 23mm to 30.5mm mounting adapter.
  • For C-mount connections, the camera can be directly threaded onto the C-mount adapter (if your microscope has one).
  • Gently insert the camera (with or without adapter) into the microscope's port until it is securely seated.

3. Camera Connection to Computer

  • Connect one end of the provided USB 2.0 cable to the MU800 camera.
  • Connect the other end of the USB 2.0 cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  • Your computer should recognize the device. If prompted, allow the driver installation to complete.

Operating Instructions

1. Launching the Software

2. Live View and Focus
