1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your WaterWarden Pool Safety Fence, Model WWF200. This removable fence system is designed to create a protective barrier around your pool, enhancing safety by restricting unauthorized access. It is UL Certified to ASTM F2286 Safety Standards.

2. Safety Information

This fence is intended as a deterrent to unsupervised access to the pool area. It is not a substitute for adult supervision.
Ensure all fence sections are securely latched when the pool is not in use.
Regularly inspect the fence for any signs of wear, damage, or loose components. Replace or repair damaged parts immediately.
For optimal safety, install the fence on a solid surface such as cement or concrete tiled decks. Installation on pavers is not recommended.
Keep the area around the fence clear of objects that could be used to climb over it.

4. Installation Instructions

4.1. Required Tools (Not Included)

4.2. Site Preparation

Ensure the installation surface is clean, level, and suitable for drilling (cement or concrete tiled decks). Mark the desired perimeter for your pool fence, ensuring adequate clearance from the pool edge and any obstacles.

Step 1: Measure & Mark
Using a chalk line, draw a line 24 inches (61 cm) from the pool edge. Mark the precise spot for the first pole along this line. Continue marking spots for subsequent poles according to the fence section length (12 feet or 3.66 meters per section). Ensure consistent spacing.
Step 2: Drill Holes
Use a hammer drill with a ⅝” masonry drill bit to drill holes 4 inches (10.16 cm) deep at each marked spot. The included drilling template is recommended to ensure accurate hole placement and proper angle. An optional drill guide (sold separately) can further assist in maintaining drill alignment for professional results.
Step 3: Insert & Secure
Place the plastic feet (sleeves) into the drilled holes. Then, insert the fence poles into the plastic feet. Connect adjacent fence sections using the integrated spring-loaded safety latch system and provided hooks. Ensure each section is taut and securely connected.
Step 4: Finish Up
Add the rubber caps to each pole top for a finished appearance and protection. If you need to remove the fence for storage, use the provided insert caps to cover the drilled holes in the deck, preventing debris accumulation.

Note: The fence is designed to be removable. When removing sections, carefully lift the poles out of their sleeves. Store the fence sections in a clean, dry place.

5. Operation

5.1. Connecting and Disconnecting Sections

Each fence section features a spring-loaded safety latch system. To connect sections, align the hooks and engage the latch. To disconnect, disengage the latch and separate the hooks. Always ensure latches are fully engaged when the fence is in use.

5.2. Removing and Reinstalling the Fence

The WaterWarden Pool Safety Fence is designed for easy removal. To remove a section, disconnect the latches and gently lift the poles out of their deck sleeves. To reinstall, simply reinsert the poles into the sleeves and reconnect the latches. Ensure all poles are fully seated and latches are secure.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Clean the mesh fabric and poles periodically with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the material.

6.2. Inspection

Perform regular inspections of your pool fence:

Check the mesh fabric for tears, fraying, or excessive stretching.
Examine poles for bends, cracks, or corrosion.
Verify that all latches are functioning correctly and securely.

7. Troubleshooting
