Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your GPX HC221B Compact CD Player Stereo Home Music System. This system allows you to enjoy audio from CDs, AM/FM radio, and external devices connected via the 3.5mm auxiliary input. What's in the Box
Verify that all components are present:
- CD Stereo System with Built-In Power Cable

Important: The remote control is carefully boxed. Please ensure you have located the remote before discarding any packaging materials.
Setup
- Speaker Connection: Connect the speaker wires from the detachable speakers to the corresponding speaker output terminals on the main unit. Ensure correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative) for optimal sound.
- Power Connection: Plug the integrated power cable into a standard AC wall outlet.
- Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control and insert two (2) AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity.
- Antenna Setup: For FM reception, extend the wire antenna fully. For AM reception, adjust the position of the unit for best signal.
- Auxiliary Input (Optional): To connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone), use a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to connect the device's headphone jack or line-out to the 3.5mm audio input jack on the back of the HC221B unit.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
CD Playback
- Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
- Gently press down on the 'OPEN' area of the CD compartment lid to open it.
- Place a CD (standard audio CD or CD-R/RW) with the label side facing up onto the CD spindle.
- Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it clicks. The unit will begin reading the disc.
- Use the PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP FORWARD, and SKIP BACKWARD buttons on the unit or remote to control playback.
- The PROGRAM button allows you to program a custom playback order for tracks.
- The REPEAT button allows you to repeat the current track or the entire disc.

AM/FM Radio
- Press the FUNCTION button to select AM or FM radio mode.
- Use the TUNING knob or the TUNE +/- buttons on the remote to manually tune to your desired station.
- Press and hold the TUNE +/- buttons for automatic station scanning.
- To save a station as a preset, tune to the station, then press the PROGRAM button, use the SKIP +/- buttons to select a preset number, and press PROGRAM again to confirm.
Auxiliary Input
Press the FUNCTION button to select AUX mode. Audio from your connected external device will now play through the system's speakers. Control playback directly from your external device.
Dynamic Bass Boost System (DBBS)
Press the DBBS button on the unit or remote to activate or deactivate the Dynamic Bass Boost System, enhancing low-frequency audio output.
Alarm Function
The unit features a digital clock with a single alarm. Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual for setting the time and alarm. You can set the alarm to wake to CD, radio, or a standard alarm tone.
Display and Dimmer
The unit features a 0.7-inch negative LCD display with a blue backlight. Use the DIMMER button to adjust the brightness of the display.
Remote Control
The included remote control provides convenient access to most functions. Ensure a clear line of sight between the remote and the main unit's sensor.

Maintenance
