Always disconnect power before installing or servicing electrical components. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes. If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified electrician.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:

  • 1 x Leviton QuickPort Wallplate (Model: 41080-2WL, White)
  • 2 x Color-matched mounting screws

Note: QuickPort connectors (keystones) are sold separately and are not included with this wallplate.

4. Setup and Installation

The Leviton QuickPort Wallplate is designed for flush mounting using a screw-in installation method. It is compatible with standard single-gang electrical boxes or low-voltage mounting brackets.

4.1 Tools Required

  • Screwdriver (Phillips head recommended)
  • Wire strippers/cutters (if installing new cabling)

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Location: Ensure the electrical box or low-voltage mounting bracket is properly installed and secured in the wall.
  2. Install QuickPort Connectors: Before mounting the wallplate, insert your desired QuickPort connectors (e.g., Ethernet, coaxial, audio) into the two available ports on the wallplate. Ensure they click securely into place. The wallplate features increased vertical spacing to accommodate larger connectors.
  3. Route Cabling: Carefully route the necessary cables through the wall opening and connect them to the rear of the installed QuickPort connectors.
  4. Mount the Wallplate: Align the wallplate over the electrical box or mounting bracket. Use the provided color-matched screws to secure the wallplate firmly to the box. Do not overtighten.
  5. Final Check: Verify that the wallplate is flush with the wall and that all connectors are stable.

5. Operating Instructions

The Leviton QuickPort Wallplate itself does not require active operation. Its function is to provide a secure and aesthetic housing for QuickPort connectors. Once installed, the connectors within the wallplate will function according to their specific design (e.g., providing network access, audio/video signals).

5.1 Inserting QuickPort Connectors

Align the QuickPort connector with one of the wallplate openings. Push the connector firmly into the opening until it clicks into place. Ensure the connector is oriented correctly.

5.2 Removing QuickPort Connectors

To remove a connector, gently press the release tab (if present on the connector) or use a small flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry the connector out of the wallplate opening. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to the wallplate or connector.

6. Maintenance

The Leviton QuickPort Wallplate requires minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: To clean the wallplate, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the plastic finish.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the wallplate for any signs of damage or loose connections. Ensure mounting screws remain tight.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your QuickPort Wallplate, consider the following:

  • Connectors do not fit: Ensure you are using genuine Leviton QuickPort connectors or compatible keystone jacks. This wallplate is designed for larger connectors, but some non-standard connectors may still not fit.
  • Wallplate is not flush: Check for obstructions behind the wallplate or ensure the electrical box/mounting bracket is properly installed and not protruding from the wall.
  • Loose wallplate: Tighten the mounting screws. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic.
  • Connectivity issues: If experiencing issues with the connected devices, verify that the QuickPort connectors are properly seated and that the cables are correctly terminated and connected to the connectors. The wallplate itself does not affect signal transmission.
