Setup

Blade Installation (Initial Setup)

Your Uline Comfort-Grip Knife comes with one blade pre-installed or included separately. If the blade is not installed, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the blade release mechanism, typically a button or lever near the front of the knife.
  2. Press and hold the blade release mechanism.
  3. Carefully insert a new utility blade into the blade slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the blade is oriented correctly with the sharp edge facing forward.
  4. Release the blade release mechanism. Gently pull on the blade to ensure it is securely locked.

Note: Always ensure the blade is fully seated and locked before use to prevent accidental dislodgement.

Operating Instructions

Extending and Retracting the Blade

The Uline Comfort-Grip Knife features a retractable blade with three positions for versatility and safety.

  1. To extend the blade, locate the textured thumb slide button on the top of the handle.
  2. Push the thumb slide button forward until the blade extends to your desired cutting depth. The knife has three distinct blade positions.
  3. To retract the blade, pull the thumb slide button backward until the blade is fully enclosed within the handle.

Important: Always retract the blade fully when the knife is not in active use or when storing it.

Blade Replacement

Dull blades are dangerous and can lead to accidents. Replace the blade as soon as it shows signs of dullness or damage.

  1. Ensure the blade is fully retracted.
  2. Locate and press the blade release mechanism.
  3. Carefully slide the old blade out. Dispose of used blades safely in a designated blade disposal container or wrapped securely to prevent injury.
  4. Insert a new Uline replacement blade (available separately) into the slot until it locks into place.
  5. Release the blade release mechanism and verify the new blade is secure.
