1. Safety Information

2.2 Components Included

3. Setup

3.1 Track Assembly

1. Unpack all components from the storage box.
2. Lay out the track pieces on a flat, stable surface. The track pieces connect using simple interlocking wooden pegs and holes.
3. Refer to the included layout guide (if applicable) or create your own railway design. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent derailment.
4. Place the bridge and track supports as needed for elevated sections. The supports are designed to hold the track securely.
5. Position the cranes, freight goods station, rocks, and signal around the track layout.

3.2 Battery Installation (Battery-Powered Engine)

The battery-powered engine requires 2 LR44 batteries (not included).

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the battery-powered engine.
2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, carefully open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 2 LR44 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

Note: Always use fresh batteries for optimal performance. Remove batteries if the toy will not be used for an extended period.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Battery-Powered Engine Operation

The red battery-powered engine features a simple switch for movement.

• Place the engine on the track.
• Locate the switch on top of the engine.
• Slide the switch forward to make the engine move forward.
• Slide the switch backward to make the engine move backward.
• Slide the switch to the middle position to stop the engine.

4.2 Crane Functions

The set includes three unique cranes for loading and unloading cargo:

• Gantry Crane: This large yellow crane can span two lines of track. It features a magnetic hoist that can be raised and lowered, and the crane itself can slide along its gantry to position over cargo.
• Truck Loading Crane: Designed to transfer cargo from trains to the included truck. Position a cargo wagon under the crane, use the magnetic hoist to lift the cargo, and then swing it to drop into the truck's bed.
• Swivel Crane: A smaller crane that can rotate 360 degrees and features a magnetic hoist for lifting and moving cargo within its reach.

All cranes utilize magnets to pick up and release the magnetic cargo pieces.

4.3 Interactive Cargo Pieces and Truck

• The cargo pieces (e.g., gasoline tank, wood blocks) have magnetic tops for crane interaction.
• The truck can hold one piece of cargo in its bed. Its hood can be lifted to reveal an engine underneath.
• The truck also has a small magnet in its front bumper, allowing it to attach to the truck loading crane for coordinated play.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and cleanliness of your BRIO World Cargo Railway Deluxe Set, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: All wooden and plastic components can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the finish or materials.
• Storage: When not in use, store all pieces in the provided green storage box to protect them from dust and damage. Ensure all components are dry before storing.
• Battery Care: Remove batteries from the battery-powered engine if the toy will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage and corrosion.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect all pieces for any signs of wear or damage. Discontinue use of any broken or damaged parts to ensure safety.
