1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your OMAX 10X-30X Binocular Stereo Microscope with 8W Fluorescent Ring Light, Model XG225BL8. 2. Setup and Assembly

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present.
  2. Base and Stand Assembly: Place the microscope base on a stable, level surface. Insert the vertical stand pillar into the designated opening on the base and secure it if necessary.
  3. Microscope Head Attachment: Mount the binocular microscope head onto the stand pillar. Ensure it is securely fastened using the locking screw.

  5. Eyepiece Installation: Gently insert the two WF10X eyepieces into the eyepiece tubes of the binocular head.

  7. Fluorescent Ring Light Attachment: Attach the 8W fluorescent ring light to the objective lens housing. Ensure it is positioned correctly to provide even illumination.

  9. Power Connection: Connect the power cord of the ring light to a suitable electrical outlet (110V).

3. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Flip the power switch on the ring light to turn on the illumination.
  2. Specimen Placement: Place your specimen on the stage plate. Use the stage clips to hold it in position if necessary.

  4. Magnification Adjustment: The microscope offers 10X and 30X magnification. Rotate the objective turret to select the desired magnification. The current magnification (1X or 3X on the objective) combined with the 10X eyepieces provides 10X or 30X total magnification.

  6. Focusing: While looking through the eyepieces, slowly turn the coarse focus knob (large knob on the side) to bring the specimen into sharp focus.

  8. Interpupillary Distance Adjustment: Adjust the distance between the two eyepiece tubes to match your eye separation for comfortable viewing.
  9. Diopter Adjustment: If one eyepiece has a diopter adjustment ring, use it to compensate for differences in vision between your eyes after focusing with the coarse knob.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a specialized lens cleaning solution to clean optical surfaces. Avoid touching lenses with bare fingers.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe the microscope body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, cover the microscope with a dust cover to protect it from dust and debris. Store in a dry, cool environment.
  • Bulb Replacement: If the fluorescent ring light bulb burns out, replace it with an 8W fluorescent ring bulb of the same specification. Ensure the microscope is unplugged before attempting replacement.
