4. Setup Instructions

  2. Placement: Position the de-icer in an area of the pond where you wish to maintain an ice-free opening. Ensure it is fully submerged and floating freely.
  3. Aeration (Optional): If using an aeration system in addition to the de-icer, place the aerator or air stone directly underneath the de-icer. This enhances efficiency and gas exchange.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the 22-foot power cord into a GFCI-protected outdoor electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected from weather elements.
  5. Initial Check: Once plugged in, the LED indicator light on top of the de-icer will illuminate. It will turn red when heating and blue when not heating (e.g., water temperature is above the thermostat setting or unit is out of water).
