2.2 Cup Compatibility

These lids are specifically designed for use with Dart foam cups. For optimal fit and performance, the 12FTL lid is compatible with the following Dart foam cup models (sold separately):

  • 14J12
  • 14FJ12
  • 10J12
  • 12J12
  • 12X12

Using these lids with non-compatible cups may result in an improper seal, leading to spills or leaks.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Attaching the Lid

  1. Ensure the foam cup is filled to an appropriate level, leaving sufficient space at the top to prevent overflow when the lid is applied.
  2. Place the Dart 12FTL lid centered over the top of the foam cup.
  3. Apply gentle, even pressure around the rim of the lid until it securely snaps into place. A proper seal will feel firm and secure.

3.2 Using the Lift n' Lock Tab

The 12FTL lid features a unique "Lift n' Lock" tab designed for spill prevention and convenient drinking.

  1. Closed Position: When the tab is in its original, flat position, it covers the drinking opening, providing a secure seal to prevent spills during transport.
  2. Lift to Open: To drink, locate the small tab on the lid. Gently lift the tab upwards.
  3. Lock in Place: Once lifted, push the tab slightly back until it locks into an upright position. This keeps the drinking opening clear and the tab out of the way while you sip.
  4. Close for Security: To re-seal the lid and prevent further spills, simply push the tab back down until it lies flat against the lid surface.

4. Maintenance and Storage

4.1 Cleaning

Dart 12FTL lids are designed for single-use with disposable foam cups. They are not intended for washing or reuse.

4.2 Storage

Store lids in their original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This helps maintain their structural integrity and prevents warping or damage.

4.3 Disposal

These lids are made of recyclable PS (Polystyrene). Please check with your local recycling facilities for proper disposal guidelines, as recycling practices for PS may vary by region.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Lid Does Not Fit Securely

  • Check Cup Compatibility: Ensure you are using the lid with a compatible Dart foam cup model (14J12, 14FJ12, 10J12, 12J12, or 12X12). Lids are designed for specific cup rims.
  • Even Pressure: When applying the lid, ensure even pressure is applied around the entire rim. Uneven pressure can prevent a proper seal.
  • Inspect for Damage: Check both the lid and the cup rim for any deformities, cracks, or damage that might prevent a secure fit.

5.2 Liquid Leaks from Under the Lid

  • Verify Secure Fit: Re-check that the lid is fully seated and securely snapped onto the cup rim.
  • Overfilling: Ensure the cup is not overfilled. Overfilling can create pressure that forces liquid out or prevents a proper seal.
  • Lid Damage: Inspect the lid for any cracks or imperfections, especially around the rim, that could compromise the seal.

5.3 Lift n' Lock Tab is Stiff or Does Not Stay Open/Closed

  • Proper Engagement: Ensure you are lifting and pushing the tab firmly to engage the locking mechanism.
  • Debris: Check for any small debris or dried liquid around the tab mechanism that might be obstructing its movement.
  • Manufacturing Variation: While rare, slight variations can occur. If a tab consistently malfunctions, it may be a manufacturing anomaly.
