Setup

  1. Placement: Position the charger on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.
  2. Battery Preparation: Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If charging a battery in a vehicle, ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories are disconnected.
  3. Connect Clamps:
    • Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
    • Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. If charging a battery installed in a vehicle, connect the negative clamp to the vehicle chassis away from the battery and fuel line.
  4. Mains Connection: Plug the charger's power cord into a suitable 230V AC, 50/60Hz mains outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Select Voltage: Use the voltage selector switch to match the battery voltage (12V or 24V).
  2. Select Charging Mode:
    • Normal Charge: For standard charging of batteries.
    • BOOST (Rapid Charge): For faster charging when time is limited. Use with caution and monitor the battery closely to prevent overcharging.
  3. Start Charging: Turn on the charger. The ammeter will indicate the charging current. The current will gradually decrease as the battery charges.
  4. Monitor Charging: Periodically check the ammeter. When the current drops to a very low level, the battery is nearly fully charged.
  5. End Charging:
    • Turn off the charger.
    • Unplug the charger from the mains outlet.
    • Disconnect the negative (-) clamp first, then the positive (+) clamp.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from the mains before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the charger in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure cables are neatly coiled and not kinked.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord and battery cables for any signs of damage, such as cuts or fraying. Do not use the charger if cables are damaged.
