What's in the Box

Upon opening your Nikon COOLPIX P300 package, ensure all the following items are present:

Setup

1. Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the EN-EL12 rechargeable Li-ion battery into the camera.
  2. Connect the camera to the EH-69P AC Adapter/Charger using the UC-E6 USB cable.
  3. Plug the AC Adapter/Charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate.
  4. Charging is complete when the indicator light turns off.

2. Inserting a Memory Card

  1. Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card into the slot with the contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  3. Close the cover securely.

3. Attaching the Camera Strap

Thread the AN-CP19 strap through the strap eyelet on the camera body to prevent accidental drops.

Operating the Camera

Power On/Off

Press the power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.

Shooting Modes

Rotate the mode dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode:

Taking Photos

  1. Frame your shot using the 3-inch LCD display.
  2. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus.
  3. Press the shutter button all the way down to take the picture.

Recording Videos

The COOLPIX P300 supports Full HD (1080p) movie recording with stereo sound.

  1. Press the dedicated movie-record button to start recording.
  2. Press the button again to stop recording.
  3. Optical zoom can be used during video recording.
