Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Do not immerse the pump in water.
  • Ensure the power cord is not damaged. If damaged, do not operate.
  • Place the pump above the water level to prevent back-siphoning. Use a check valve if placing below water level.
  • Disconnect from power supply before performing any maintenance.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

  • 1 x EcoPlus ECOair2 Adjustable Air Pump
  • Instruction Manual (this document)
  • (Note: Air tubing and air stones are typically sold separately and not included with the pump itself.)

Setup

  1. Placement: Position the air pump on a dry, stable surface, preferably above the water level of your aquarium or hydroponic system. If placing below water level, install a check valve (not included) on the air line to prevent water from flowing back into the pump during a power outage.
  2. Connect Air Tubing: Attach standard air tubing (not included) to the two air outlets on the front of the pump. Ensure a snug fit.
  3. Connect Air Stones/Accessories: Connect the other end of the air tubing to your air stones, diffusers, or other air-driven accessories within your system.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety, especially in wet environments.

Operation

The EcoPlus ECOair2 pump is designed for continuous operation. Once plugged in, it will begin to produce air.

Adjusting Airflow

The pump features an adjustable knob on the top to control the air output.

  1. Increase Airflow: Turn the knob clockwise to increase the air volume.
  2. Decrease Airflow: Turn the knob counter-clockwise to decrease the air volume.

Adjust the airflow to suit the specific needs of your application, whether it's an aquarium, hydroponic system, or other use requiring aeration.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air pump.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Air Filter: Check the air filter (if accessible, typically located under a small cover) every 1-3 months. Clean or replace if it appears clogged with dust or debris. A clogged filter can reduce airflow and strain the pump.
  • Air Tubing and Air Stones: Inspect air tubing for kinks or blockages. Clean or replace air stones/diffusers as they can become clogged over time, reducing air output.
  • Diaphragm Replacement: Over extended periods of use, the internal diaphragms may wear out. Consult the manufacturer's website or authorized service centers for replacement parts and instructions if a significant drop in performance is observed and other troubleshooting steps fail.

Warning: Always unplug the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance.
