Unpacking

Placement
The Whirlpool MAX 34 SL is designed for freestanding use and features a compact, space-saving design, particularly suitable for corner placement.

- Place the oven on a flat, stable surface capable of supporting its weight.
- Ensure adequate ventilation. Maintain a minimum clearance of 30 cm above the oven and sufficient space around the sides and back for air circulation.
- Do not place the microwave in a cabinet or directly next to other heat sources.
- Keep the microwave away from radio and TV sets to avoid interference.

Control Panel Overview
The control panel is located below the oven door and features touch-sensitive buttons and a digital display.
- STOP ■: Stops cooking, clears settings, or cancels a program.
- Power: Selects one of the 5 available power modes. Press repeatedly to cycle through power levels.
- Jet Defrost ❉: For rapid defrosting based on food type and weight.
- Manual Defrost: For manual defrosting by setting time.
- Jet Start ▷: Starts cooking at maximum power for 30 seconds with each press.
- +/-: Adjusts cooking time, weight, or clock settings.
- Memo: Stores and recalls frequently used settings.
Basic Microwave Cooking
- Place food in a microwave-safe container on the turntable.
- Close the oven door securely.
- Press the Power button repeatedly to select the desired power level (e.g., P100 for 700W, P70 for 490W, etc.).
- Use the +/- buttons to set the desired cooking time.
- Press Jet Start ▷ to begin cooking.
Jet Start Function
The Jet Start ▷ function provides quick heating at maximum power. Each press adds 30 seconds of cooking time. This is ideal for reheating beverages or small portions of food.
Defrost Functions
The microwave offers both automatic and manual defrosting options.
Jet Defrost ❉ (Automatic)
- Press the Jet Defrost ❉ button.
- Use the +/- buttons to enter the weight of the food in grams.
- Press Jet Start ▷ to begin defrosting. The oven will automatically calculate the defrosting time and may prompt you to turn the food during the cycle.
Manual Defrost
- Press the Manual Defrost button.
- Use the +/- buttons to set the desired defrosting time.
- Press Jet Start ▷ to begin defrosting.
Setting the Clock
- Ensure the oven is in standby mode.
- Press and hold the +/- button for a few seconds until the hour digits flash.
- Use the +/- buttons to set the hour.
- Press the +/- button again to confirm the hour and move to minutes.
- Use the +/- buttons to set the minutes.
- Press the +/- button one last time to confirm the minutes and set the clock.
Child Safety Lock
To activate the child safety lock, press and hold the STOP ■ button for approximately 3 seconds until a lock icon appears on the display. To deactivate, repeat the process.
Care and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your microwave oven.
Cleaning the Oven Interior
- Always unplug the microwave before cleaning.
- Wipe the interior cavity, door seals, and turntable with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each use.
- For stubborn food splatters, place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. The steam will loosen the residue, making it easier to wipe away.
- The glass turntable can be removed and washed in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher.
