6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner. Always unplug the vacuum before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Emptying the Dust Cup
The Nimble features a large capacity, bagless dust cup. Empty the dust cup when debris reaches the 'Max Fill' line or after each use. Press the release button to detach the dust cup, then open the bottom flap over a waste bin to dispose of contents.
6.2 Cleaning the Washable HEPA Filter
The sealed HEPA filtration system captures 99.97% of dust and allergens. The HEPA filter is washable and should be cleaned periodically to maintain suction performance. Remove the filter from the dust cup assembly and rinse it under cool running water until the water runs clear. Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting it into the vacuum. Do not use a dryer or other heating methods to dry the filter.
6.3 Belt Inspection
The vacuum is equipped with a lifetime belt. Periodically inspect the belt for any signs of wear or damage. If the brushroll is not spinning, check for obstructions or contact customer support if the belt appears broken.
7. Troubleshooting
If your vacuum cleaner is not performing as expected, consult the following common issues and solutions:
- No Power: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the power button is pressed.
- Loss of Suction: Empty the dust cup. Clean or replace the HEPA filter. Check the hose and nozzles for blockages.
- Brushroll Not Spinning: Ensure the vacuum is in carpet mode. Check for hair or debris wrapped around the brushroll. Inspect the drive belt for damage.
- Unusual Noise: Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Check for any foreign objects in the brushroll, hose, or dust cup.
For issues not resolved by these steps, please contact Electrolux customer support.
