1. Setup and Initial Use

1.1 Unpacking and Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present before assembly. The main components include the motor unit, wand, motorized cleaner head, and various attachments.

To assemble, connect the wand to the main motor unit until it clicks securely. Then, attach your desired cleaner head or accessory to the end of the wand or directly to the motor unit for handheld use.

1.2 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the vacuum cleaner. The Dyson DC35 uses lithium-ion batteries for consistent power.

  1. Install the wall-mounted docking station in a convenient location near a power outlet. Ensure it is securely fastened to the wall.

  4. Allow approximately 3.5 hours for a full charge.

2. Operating the Vacuum

2.1 Power Modes

The Dyson DC35 features two power modes:

  • Standard Mode: Provides up to 15 minutes of powerful fade-free suction for general cleaning.
  • Max Mode: Offers 6 minutes of increased suction for more demanding tasks. Activate by pressing the 'MAX' button on the top of the motor unit.

To operate, simply press and hold the power trigger. Release the trigger to turn off the vacuum.

The DC35 is designed for versatile cleaning across various floor types and hard-to-reach areas.

3. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures your Dyson DC35 continues to perform optimally.

3.1 Emptying the Clear Bin

Empty the clear bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level mark. Do not overfill.

  1. Hold the vacuum cleaner over a trash can.
  2. Press the red bin release button located on the side of the motor unit. The bin base will open, and the dirt shroud will slide down, ejecting dirt.
  3. Close the bin base firmly until it clicks into place.

3.2 Washing the Filter

Wash the filter at least every month with cold water. Do not use detergents.

  1. Twist and lift the filter out from the top of the motor unit.
  2. Rinse the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  3. Shake excess water off and leave to dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm place. Ensure it is absolutely dry before replacing.

3.3 Clearing Blockages

If the vacuum loses suction, check for blockages in the cleaner head, wand, and main motor unit intake. Always ensure the vacuum is turned off before checking for blockages.
