4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
- After installation, flip the main power switch on the rear of the power supply to the 'I' (On) position.
- Press the power button on your computer case to start the system.
- To power off, shut down your operating system normally. For complete power disconnection, flip the main power switch on the PSU to 'O' (Off) and unplug the AC cord.
4.2 Fan Speed Control
The power supply features a 120mm fan with a speed control switch. This switch allows you to adjust the fan's operation based on your preference for cooling and noise levels.
- Low: Provides quieter operation, suitable for systems with lower power demands.
- Auto: The fan speed automatically adjusts based on the power supply's internal temperature, balancing cooling and noise.
- High: Maximizes cooling performance, ideal for systems under heavy load, though it may result in increased fan noise.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply.
- Dust Removal: Periodically clean dust from the power supply's fan and vents using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable Management: Regularly check that cables are not obstructing airflow within the computer case.
- Do Not Disassemble: Never attempt to open the power supply unit. It contains high voltage components and doing so will void the warranty and poses a safety risk.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your power supply, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power:
- Ensure the AC power cord is securely connected to both the power supply and the wall outlet.
- Verify the main power switch on the rear of the PSU is in the 'On' position.
- Check the voltage selector switch (115V/230V) is set correctly for your region.
- Confirm all internal power cables (20+4 pin, CPU, PCIe) are properly connected to the motherboard and components.
- System Instability/Random Shutdowns:
- Ensure the power supply is adequately rated for all your system components.
- Check for proper ventilation within the computer case to prevent overheating.
- Verify all power connections are secure.
- Fan Noise:
- Adjust the fan speed control switch to 'Low' or 'Auto' if excessive noise is a concern.
- Clean any dust accumulation from the fan and vents.
If problems persist after following these steps, contact Rosewill customer support or a qualified technician.
