3. Setup and Installation

The Bio Bidet BB1000 is designed for straightforward installation, typically not requiring a professional plumber. Ensure you have a 3-prong electrical outlet (GFCI recommended) in close proximity to the toilet. The power cord is approximately 3 feet in length and extends from the right rear of the unit when facing the toilet.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off the water shut-off valve: Locate and close the water supply valve to your toilet.
  2. Remove your existing toilet seat: Detach the current toilet seat and lid from the toilet bowl.
  3. Install the catch plate: Secure the provided catch plate to the toilet using the bolts, washers, and nuts. Ensure it is properly aligned.
  4. Slide the bidet seat on: Carefully slide the BB1000 bidet seat onto the installed catch plate until it clicks into place.
  5. Connect the toilet and bidet hoses: Use the provided T-valve to connect the bidet hose to the toilet's water supply line. Ensure all connections are hand-tightened, then gently tighten with a wrench, being careful not to overtighten plastic components.
  6. Plug the power cord: Connect the bidet's power cord into a GFCI electrical outlet.
  7. Turn on the water supply: Slowly open the water shut-off valve to restore water flow to the toilet and bidet. Check for any leaks.

Important Note: The water feed on the unit is made of plastic. Exercise caution when connecting the metal threaded T-valve to avoid cross-threading or overtightening, which can cause damage.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper care will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Bio Bidet BB1000.

Cleaning the Unit:

  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: The 3-in-1 nozzle is self-cleaning. However, if manual cleaning is required, gently extend the nozzle and wipe it with a soft cloth or brush. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, or solvents (e.g., bleach, alcohol-based cleaners) on any part of the bidet seat, as these can damage the plastic and finish. Standard bathroom cleaners like Lysol or Clorox sprays can be used, but ensure surfaces are wiped dry immediately to prevent residue buildup.
  • Removing the Seat for Cleaning: To remove the bidet seat for thorough cleaning, locate the tab on the right side bottom of the unit. Push this tab in and slide the BB1000 off the attachment point.

General Care:

  • Lid Care: The lid is not designed to bear weight. Avoid sitting or standing on the lid to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Water Filter (if applicable): Periodically check and clean or replace any inline water filters if your installation includes one.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Bio Bidet BB1000, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Power/Unit Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional GFCI outlet.
    • Check your home's circuit breaker if the outlet is not receiving power.
    • Verify the GFCI outlet has not tripped. Reset if necessary.
  • No Water Spray/Weak Water Pressure:
    • Confirm the toilet's water shut-off valve is fully open.
    • Check that the T-valve connection to the bidet hose is not kinked or obstructed.
    • Ensure the water supply to your home is active and at normal pressure.
  • Remote Control Not Responding:
    • Replace the AA batteries in the remote control.
    • Ensure the remote is held within approximately 20 inches of the bidet unit's left side (when facing the toilet) for optimal signal reception.
    • Remove any obstructions between the remote and the bidet unit.
  • Water Leaks:
    • Turn off the water supply immediately.
    • Check all water connections (T-valve, bidet hose) for proper tightening. Ensure they are snug but not overtightened, especially plastic components.
    • Verify that all washers and seals are correctly in place.
  • Heated Seat/Warm Water Not Working:
    • Ensure the unit is powered on and the seat sensor is engaged (you must be seated).
    • Check the temperature settings on the remote control.
    • Allow a few minutes for the water and seat to heat up after initial power-on or temperature adjustment.
