1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of Liqui Moly LiquiMate 8080 Body Adhesive Spray. This product is designed for strong and durable bonding in automotive body applications. Please read all instructions carefully before use.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Flammable aerosol. Pressurized container: May burst if heated. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Keep out of reach of children.
- Ensure adequate ventilation during use. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
- Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. No smoking.
- Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source.
- Do not pierce or burn, even after use.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection.
- Avoid breathing spray.
- IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice/attention.
- Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
- Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local regulations.
3. Setup and Preparation
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, and other contaminants. Lightly abrade smooth surfaces for better adhesion.
- Temperature: For optimal results, apply the adhesive at room temperature (18-25°C / 64-77°F).
- Shake Can: Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least 1-2 minutes before use to ensure proper mixing of components.
- Test Spray: Before applying to the main surface, perform a test spray on an inconspicuous area to check spray pattern and compatibility.

4. Operating Instructions
- Application: Hold the can upright approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) from the surface. Apply an even, thin coat of adhesive to both surfaces to be bonded.
- Flash-off Time: Allow the adhesive to flash off for approximately 5-10 minutes, or until it feels tacky to the touch. This allows solvents to evaporate.
- Bonding: Carefully align the surfaces and press them firmly together. Apply even pressure across the entire bonded area.
- Curing: The initial bond strength is achieved quickly, but full cure and maximum strength may take up to 24 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
- Multiple Coats (if needed): For highly porous materials or stronger bonds, a second thin coat may be applied after the first coat has flashed off, followed by another flash-off time before bonding.
5. Maintenance
- Nozzle Cleaning: After each use, invert the can and spray briefly until only propellant comes out. This prevents the nozzle from clogging.
- Storage: Store the can in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F). Ensure the cap is securely placed.
6. Troubleshooting
- Poor Adhesion: If the adhesive does not bond properly, check if surfaces were adequately cleaned and dry. Ensure sufficient flash-off time was allowed and that enough pressure was applied during bonding. Application in cold temperatures can also reduce adhesion.
- Clogged Nozzle: If the nozzle is clogged, remove it and clean it with a suitable solvent. If cleaning is not possible, replace the nozzle. Always clean the nozzle after use as described in the Maintenance section.
- Uneven Spray Pattern: Shake the can thoroughly before and during use. Ensure the nozzle is clean and not partially blocked.
