Introduction

The SDI Technologies iHM78 is a compact and portable stereo speaker system designed for use with various audio devices such as iPods, iPhones, iPads, Macbooks, laptops, and MP3 players. These speakers feature a unique magnetic capsule design for portability, allowing them to attach together for easy transport. When separated and extended, they deliver surprisingly rich stereo sound. The system includes built-in rechargeable batteries and supports USB charging, making it ideal for on-the-go audio enjoyment.

Setup

Package Contents

Charging the Speakers

Before first use, fully charge the iHM78 speakers. Connect the supplied USB charging cable to the USB charging port on one of the speakers and the other end to a powered USB port (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging. Charging typically takes approximately 2-3 hours. Once fully charged, the indicator light may change or turn off, depending on the specific unit.

Connecting the Speakers

The two speaker units attach magnetically for compact storage. To use them, gently pull them apart. Extend each speaker unit by twisting the top section counter-clockwise to reveal the vacuum bass expansion chamber. Connect the short 3.5mm audio cable between the two speaker units using the 3.5mm audio jacks located on each speaker.

Connecting to an Audio Device

Connect the supplied 3.5mm audio cable from the audio output jack of your device (iPod, iPhone, MP3 player, laptop, etc.) to the 3.5mm audio input jack on one of the iHM78 speakers. Ensure the connection is secure.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch on one of the speaker units. Slide the switch to the "ON" position to power on the speakers. Slide it to the "OFF" position to power off the speakers when not in use.

Audio Playback

Once connected to your audio device and powered on, begin playback on your device. Adjust the volume directly on your audio device. The iHM78 speakers do not have independent volume controls.

Vacuum Bass Expansion

For enhanced bass response, ensure both speaker units are fully extended by twisting their top sections counter-clockwise. This action expands the vacuum bass chamber, providing a richer and fuller sound experience.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the speaker surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive materials, or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components of the speakers.

Storage

When not in use for extended periods, power off the speakers and disconnect them from your audio device. For portability and protection, attach the two speaker units magnetically and store them in the provided protective carrying case.

Battery Care

To prolong the life of the built-in rechargeable batteries, avoid fully discharging the speakers frequently. It is recommended to recharge them regularly, especially if they will not be used for an extended period, to maintain battery health.
