1. Product Overview

2. Setup
2.1. Battery and Memory Card Insertion
Before using your camera, ensure the battery is charged and correctly inserted, along with a compatible SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory card.
- Locate the battery/memory card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Slide the release latch to open the cover.
- Insert the battery with the correct orientation, ensuring it clicks into place.
- Insert the memory card into its slot until it clicks.
- Close the compartment cover securely.

2.2. Attaching the Lens
Align the mounting marks on the lens and the camera body, then rotate the lens clockwise until it locks into place. Remove the lens cap before use.

3. Operation
3.1. Powering On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the power switch located on the top panel. To power off, slide the switch back to the OFF position.

3.2. Taking Photos
The DMC-GF2 offers intuitive photo-taking. You can use the physical shutter button or the touch-screen LCD.
- Using the Shutter Button: Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.
- Using the Touch-Screen: Tap on the desired subject on the 3-inch LCD to focus and simultaneously release the shutter. The camera's AF tracking function will follow moving subjects.

3.3. Recording Videos
The camera supports Full HD (1920 x 1080) video recording at 60i or HD (1280 x 720) at 60p in AVCHD format. A dedicated video record button simplifies starting and stopping recordings.
- Press the dedicated red video record button to start recording.
- Press it again to stop recording.
- The iA (Intelligent Auto) mode is also available for video recording, automatically optimizing settings.
3.4. Using the Built-in Flash
The DMC-GF2 features a built-in flash for low-light conditions. To activate the flash, press the "OPEN" button located near the top left of the camera body (when viewed from the rear).

4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning the Camera Body and Lens
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
- For the lens, use a lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a microfiber lens cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a specialized lens cleaning solution applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
4.2. Sensor Cleaning
The Lumix GF2 is equipped with a Dust Reduction System that vibrates the Live MOS sensor to repel dust. If dust spots persist in your images, it is recommended to have the sensor professionally cleaned by an authorized service center.
4.3. Storage
When not in use, store the camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the lens cap is on and the camera is powered off.
