Setup and Installation
The Craftmade DC-WALL control is designed for straightforward installation. No assembly of the control unit itself is required.
Compatibility
- This wall control is specifically designed for use with Craftmade fans equipped with a DC motor.
- Important Note: Based on user feedback, this control may not be compatible with all Home Decorators Collection Kensgrove DC fans, particularly newer models that do not use dip switches for frequency selection. Verify your fan's compatibility before installation.
Mounting Location
- Install the wall control in an indoor location only.
Battery Installation (if not pre-installed)
- The unit requires a 12V battery. If not pre-installed, open the battery compartment and insert the battery, observing polarity.
Wiring
- Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about electrical wiring procedures.
- Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker before connecting any wires.
- Connect the wall control according to the wiring diagram provided with your Craftmade DC motor fan.

Operating Instructions
This wall control provides comprehensive control over your compatible DC motor ceiling fan.
Fan Speed Control
- The circular button with Roman numerals (I, II, III, IV, V, VI) controls the fan speed. Press the center button to cycle through the six available speed settings.
Fan Direction Control
- The button with the circular arrow icon (below the speed control) reverses the fan's direction. This is useful for seasonal operation (e.g., downdraft for cooling in summer, updraft for circulating warm air in winter).
Light Control
- The button with the light bulb icon (at the bottom) controls the fan's integrated light kit. Press to turn the light on or off. If your fan supports dimming, press and hold to adjust brightness.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
- If the wall control becomes unresponsive, the 12V battery may need replacement.
- To replace the battery, carefully remove the wall plate. The battery compartment is typically accessible once the plate is removed.
- Replace with a new 12V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Reattach the wall plate.
Troubleshooting
- Control Not Responding:
- Check the battery. Replace if necessary.
- Ensure the circuit breaker for the fan is in the "ON" position.
- Verify compatibility with your specific fan model. This control is designed for Craftmade DC motor fans.
- Fan Not Responding to Commands:
- Confirm the wall control is properly paired or synced with your fan. Refer to your fan's instruction manual for pairing procedures, especially if it uses dip switches.
- Ensure the fan's receiver is functioning correctly.
- Incompatibility with Kensgrove DC Fans:
- Some Kensgrove DC fan models, particularly newer ones, may not be compatible with this wall control as they do not utilize dip switch frequency selection. If your Kensgrove fan does not respond, it is likely incompatible.
