Controls and Features:
- CD Compartment Lid: Opens to insert or remove a CD.

5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Unit
The XP-V5260C can be powered by either batteries or an AC power adapter.
Using Batteries:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert two (2) AA-size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Battery life is approximately 32 hours with standard alkaline batteries. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
Using AC Power Adapter (Optional):
- Plug the AC power adapter (not included with all models) into the DC IN 4.5V jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet.
5.2 Connecting Headphones
Insert the 3.5mm stereo plug of your headphones into the HEADPHONE jack on the side of the unit.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Loading a CD
- Gently press the OPEN button or slide the latch to open the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the center spindle.
- Press down gently on the center of the CD until it clicks into place.
- Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches.
6.2 Basic Playback
- To Play: Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) button. The CD will start playing from the first track, or from where it was last paused.
- To Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE (►/−−) button during playback. Press again to resume.
- To Stop: Press the STOP (■) button.
- To Skip Tracks: Press the SKIP/SEARCH (►►) button to go to the next track. Press the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button to go to the beginning of the current track, or press twice to go to the previous track.
- To Search: During playback, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH (►►) button to fast-forward, or the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button to fast-rewind. Release the button to resume normal playback.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the VOLUME control to adjust the listening level.
6.3 Electronic Anti-Shock System (EASS)
The XP-V5260C features a 48-second EASS to prevent audio interruptions caused by bumps or vibrations. This system stores audio data in a buffer, allowing for continuous playback even if the laser momentarily loses track. The EASS activates automatically during playback.
6.4 Digital Sound Level (DSL) Bass Boost
Press the DSL button to activate or deactivate the bass boost function. When activated, the audio output will have enhanced low-frequency response.
6.5 Playback Modes
Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through different playback modes:
- Repeat 1: Repeats the current track.
- Repeat All: Repeats all tracks on the CD.
- Random: Plays tracks in a random order.
- Intro: Plays the first few seconds of each track.
- Normal Play: Plays tracks in sequential order without repetition.
6.6 CD-R/RW Playback
This unit is compatible with both commercially produced audio CDs and user-recorded CD-R/RW discs. Ensure that CD-R/RW discs are finalized after recording for proper playback.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- To clean the CD lens, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc.
