4. Setup
4.1. Physical Placement
Position the projector on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely. Ensure the projector is placed at an appropriate distance from the screen to achieve the desired image size. Maintain adequate ventilation around the unit.

4.2. Connecting Devices
The NP-M300W offers various input ports for connecting different devices. Refer to the rear panel diagram below for port locations.

- HDMI Connection: Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., laptop, Blu-ray player) to the HDMI IN port on the projector.
- VGA (Computer) Connection: Use a VGA cable to connect your computer's video output to either COMPUTER 1 IN or COMPUTER 2 IN. For audio, connect an audio cable from your computer's audio output to the corresponding AUDIO IN port.
- Video/S-Video Connection: For standard definition video sources, connect a composite video cable to VIDEO IN or an S-Video cable to S-VIDEO IN. Connect audio cables to the L/MONO and R AUDIO IN ports.

4.3. Powering On/Off

5.1. Control Panel Overview

- Power Button: Turns the projector on and off.
- SOURCE Button: Cycles through available input sources (HDMI, Computer 1, Computer 2, Video, S-Video, USB).
- MENU Button: Opens the on-screen display (OSD) menu.

Press the MENU button to access the OSD. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through categories and options. Press ENTER to select an option or confirm a setting. Press EXIT to close the menu.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Lamp Replacement
The lamp has an extended life, but will eventually need replacement. When the lamp life is nearing its end, a warning message may appear, or the lamp indicator light will illuminate. Always use a genuine NEC replacement lamp (NP16LP).
- Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
- Allow the projector to cool down for at least one hour.
- Locate the lamp cover (usually on the top or side of the projector) and remove the screw(s) securing it.
- Carefully remove the lamp cover.
- Unscrew the lamp module and gently pull it out.
- Insert the new lamp module, ensuring it is seated correctly.
- Secure the new lamp with its screws.
- Replace the lamp cover and secure it with its screw(s).
- Plug in the power cord and turn on the projector. Reset the lamp timer through the OSD menu.
6.2. Filter Cleaning/Replacement
The air filter also has an extended life but should be cleaned periodically to prevent dust buildup and maintain cooling efficiency. A clogged filter can lead to overheating and reduced lamp life.
- Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
- Locate the air filter cover (usually on the side of the projector) and remove it.
- Remove the air filter.
- Clean the filter using a small vacuum cleaner or by gently tapping it to remove dust. If the filter is heavily soiled or damaged, replace it with a new one.
- Reinsert the clean or new filter and replace the filter cover.
- Reset the filter timer through the OSD menu.
6.3. General Cleaning
- Projector Casing: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Lens: Use a professional lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning solution. Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion. Avoid touching the lens with bare hands.
