5. Setup
5.1 Power Connection
- Unpack the Audiola RSB 0715 unit and its accessories.
- Connect the AC power adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the unit.
- Plug the other end of the power adapter into a standard AC 230V, 50Hz wall outlet.
- The unit will power on, and the display will illuminate.
5.2 Battery Backup Installation
The unit requires 3x CR 2025-3V lithium batteries (not included) for backup power. These batteries preserve time and alarm settings during a power outage.
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 3x CR 2025-3V lithium batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Controls
Familiarize yourself with the buttons on the front panel:
- Power Button (⏻): Turns the unit on/off.
- Mode Button: Switches between different modes (e.g., Radio, AUX, Time/Date setting).
- ⏮ (Previous/Tune Down): Adjusts frequency down in radio mode, navigates backward in settings.
- ⏭ (Next/Tune Up): Adjusts frequency up in radio mode, navigates forward in settings.
- ⏸ (Play/Pause/Set): Confirms selections in settings, plays/pauses in AUX mode.
6.2 Setting Time and Date
- In standby mode, press and hold the Mode button until the time display flashes.
- Use the ⏮ / ⏭ buttons to adjust the hour, then press ⏸ to confirm.
- Repeat for minutes, year, month, and day.
- Press Mode again to exit setting mode.
- To adjust for Daylight Saving Time, refer to the specific DST setting option in the menu, usually accessed by pressing the Mode button multiple times.
6.3 Radio Operation (AM/FM)
- Press the Power button to turn on the unit.
- Press the Mode button until 'FM' or 'AM' appears on the display.
- Use the ⏮ / ⏭ buttons to manually tune to your desired frequency. Hold the buttons for automatic scanning to the next available station.
- Adjust the volume using the dedicated volume control (if present, otherwise it might be combined with tuning buttons).
6.4 Alarm Functions (AL1, AL2)
The unit features two independent alarms.
- In standby mode, press the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button (often combined with other buttons, refer to button labels) to enter alarm setting mode. The alarm time will flash.
- Use the ⏮ / ⏭ buttons to set the desired alarm hour and minutes, pressing ⏸ to confirm each step.
- Select the alarm source: Buzzer or Radio. If Radio is selected, tune to the desired station beforehand.
- Press the Alarm button again to activate the alarm. An alarm icon will appear on the display.
- To deactivate an alarm, press the corresponding Alarm button until the alarm icon disappears.
6.5 Snooze Function
When an alarm sounds, wave your hand over the infrared sensor (if available) or press the Snooze button to temporarily silence the alarm for a few minutes. The alarm will sound again after the snooze period.
6.6 Sleep Function
The sleep function allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.
- While the radio is playing, press the Sleep button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 120, 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
- The display will show the selected sleep duration. The radio will turn off automatically after this time.
6.7 Projection Function
The Audiola RSB 0715 can project the current time onto a wall or ceiling.
- Locate the projection lens on the top of the unit.
- Press the Projection button (or a dedicated switch) to activate the projection.
- Rotate the projection lens or the focus ring around the lens to adjust the clarity of the projected image.
- The projection angle can often be adjusted by tilting the projector head.
6.8 AUX Input
Connect external audio devices like MP3 players or smartphones to the unit.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX IN jack on the unit.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device.
- Press the Mode button until 'AUX' appears on the display.
- Start playback on your external device. The audio will play through the Radiorecorder's speakers.
6.9 Temperature Display
The unit displays the internal room temperature.
- The temperature is usually displayed alongside the time.
- To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the dedicated °C/°F button or cycle through display modes using the Mode button until the option appears.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Dust: Keep the unit free from dust, especially the projection lens and ventilation openings.
- Battery Replacement: Replace backup batteries annually or when the unit fails to retain settings during power outages.
8. Troubleshooting
