Setup
Attaching to a Tripod
The Benro B1 Ballhead features a standard 3/8"-16 threaded base for attachment to most tripods. Ensure your tripod's mounting screw is compatible. Securely tighten the ballhead onto the tripod's mounting plate.
Attaching the Quick Release Plate (PU60)
The ballhead comes with a PU60 Arca-Swiss style quick release plate. This plate attaches to your camera or lens collar. The plate features a 1/4"-20 camera/lens screw for secure attachment.
- Locate the quick release plate and the 1/4"-20 screw.
- Align the screw with the tripod mount thread on your camera or lens collar.
- Use a coin or the provided tool to tighten the screw securely.

Operating the Ballhead
Mounting Your Camera
- Ensure the quick release clamp is open. The Benro B1 features a safety stop screw mechanism to prevent accidental plate release.
- Slide the quick release plate (with camera attached) into the clamp.
- Tighten the quick release clamp knob until the plate is securely fastened.

Adjusting Ballhead Movement (Lock and Drag Control)
The B1 ballhead features separate knobs for locking the ball and adjusting the drag (friction) of the ball movement. This dual-action design allows for precise control.
- Main Lock Knob: This larger knob locks the ball in place, preventing any movement. Turn clockwise to lock, counter-clockwise to loosen.
- Friction Control Knob: This smaller knob adjusts the tension or drag on the ball when the main lock knob is loosened. This allows for smooth, controlled movement without completely freeing the ball. Adjust to prevent sudden drops of your camera.

360° Panning
The base of the ballhead features a separate panning lock knob, allowing for smooth 360-degree horizontal rotation without affecting the ball's tilt. This is ideal for panoramic photography or tracking moving subjects.
- To pan, loosen the panning lock knob located at the base of the ballhead.
- Rotate the camera horizontally to the desired position.
- Tighten the panning lock knob to secure the position.

Built-in Bubble Level
