Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash the carafe, lid, and removable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. It is recommended to run a full brewing cycle with only water to clean the internal components.

Initial Setup Steps:

  1. Place the Coffee Maker: Position the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface near an electrical outlet.
  2. Fill the Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. Refer to the water level markings on the side of the reservoir for desired cups.
  3. Insert Filter and Coffee Grounds: Place a standard paper filter into the removable filter basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. For optimal flavor, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup.

Brewing Coffee:

  1. Start Brewing Immediately: Press the ON/OFF button to begin the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Adjust Brew Strength: If desired, press the BREW STRENGTH button to select between Regular or Strong brew. The corresponding indicator light will show your selection.
  3. Grab-A-Cup Auto Pause: During brewing, you can temporarily remove the carafe to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will automatically pause. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
  4. Automatic Shut-Off: The coffee maker will automatically shut off 2 hours after the brewing cycle is complete.

Using Delay Brew (Programmable Brewing):

  1. Prepare Coffee Maker: Follow steps 1-3 from the "Initial Setup Steps" above (fill water, add filter and grounds, place carafe).
  2. Set Delay Time: Press the SET DELAY button. The clock display will flash. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired time for brewing to start.
  3. Activate Delay Brew: Press the SET DELAY button again to confirm the setting. The indicator light for Delay Brew will illuminate, and the clock will return to the current time. Your coffee maker is now programmed to brew at the set time.

Daily Cleaning:

Decalcification (Cleaning Cycle):

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect brewing performance. The coffee maker features a special cleaning cycle to address this.

  1. Prepare Cleaning Solution: Fill the water reservoir with 4 cups of undiluted white vinegar.
  2. Start Cleaning Cycle: Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket (no coffee grounds). Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the CLEAN button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Complete Cycle: The cleaning cycle will run automatically. Once complete, discard the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe and filter basket.
  4. Rinse Cycle: Run 2-3 full brewing cycles with fresh, cold water only to flush out any remaining vinegar taste.
