Setup and Installation
1. Mounting the Amplifier
Choose a mounting location that provides adequate air circulation for cooling and is protected from moisture. Ensure the amplifier is securely fastened to prevent movement during vehicle operation.

Image: Product dimensions of the Lanzar HTG447 amplifier, showing a length of 14.96 inches and a width of 8.81 inches.
- Dimensions: 14.96''(L) x 2.24''(H) x 8.81''(W)
- Ensure at least 2 inches of clearance around the amplifier for proper heat dissipation.
2. Wiring Connections
Refer to the diagrams below for proper wiring. Incorrect wiring can damage the amplifier or vehicle electrical system.

Image: Detailed views of the Lanzar HTG447 amplifier's front and rear panels, illustrating input and output connections, including RCA, gain controls, crossover settings, power input, fuse, and speaker outputs.
Power Connections:
- +12V (BATT): Connect directly to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery using a suitable gauge power cable (e.g., 4-gauge). Install an in-line fuse holder within 18 inches of the battery.
- GND (Ground): Connect to a clean, unpainted metal surface of the vehicle chassis. Ensure a solid electrical connection. Use the same gauge wire as the +12V connection.
- REM (Remote): Connect to the remote turn-on lead from your head unit. This wire turns the amplifier on and off with the head unit.
Audio Input (RCA) Connections:
- Connect RCA cables from your head unit's pre-amp outputs to the amplifier's RCA inputs (1CH/2CH and 3CH/4CH).
- The amplifier also features Line Outs for Left and Right Channels, allowing connection to additional amplifiers.
Speaker Output Connections:
- Connect your speakers to the amplifier's speaker terminals. Observe correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- For 4-channel stereo operation, connect one speaker per channel.
- For bridged operation (2-channel), connect speakers across the designated bridged terminals (e.g., 1CH+ and 2CH- for one bridged channel). Refer to the diagram on the amplifier.
- The amplifier is 2 Ohm stereo stable. Ensure speaker impedance matches the amplifier's capabilities.
Operating Instructions
Adjusting Controls
The Lanzar HTG447 features several adjustable controls to fine-tune your audio system. These controls are located on the front panel of the amplifier.
- GAIN Control: Adjusts the input sensitivity of the amplifier to match the output level of your head unit. Start with the gain at minimum and slowly increase until desired volume is achieved without distortion.
- X-OVER (Crossover) Control:
- FULL: Full range audio output.
- HPF (High Pass Filter): Allows frequencies above the set point to pass through. Useful for full-range speakers to prevent low bass distortion. Adjustable up to 80KHz.
- LPF (Low Pass Filter): Allows frequencies below the set point to pass through. Essential for subwoofers. Adjustable from 50Hz-250Hz.
- BASS BOOST: Provides an adjustable bass enhancement at a specific frequency. Use sparingly to avoid distortion and potential speaker damage.
Note: Always make small adjustments and listen carefully to the audio output to prevent damage to speakers or the amplifier.
Maintenance
- Keep the amplifier clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Ensure ventilation openings are not obstructed.
- Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion.
- If a fuse blows, replace it only with a fuse of the same type and rating (20A). Using an incorrect fuse can cause serious damage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power (Power LED Off) | Blown fuse, poor power/ground connection, no remote turn-on signal. | Check fuses (amplifier and in-line). Verify +12V, GND, and REM connections. Ensure head unit is on. |
| Protection LED On | Overheating, speaker short circuit, impedance too low. | Check for proper ventilation. Inspect speaker wiring for shorts. Verify speaker impedance is within limits (2 Ohm stable). |
| No Audio Output | RCA cables disconnected, gain too low, speaker wires disconnected. | Check RCA connections from head unit. Adjust gain control. Verify speaker wiring. |
| Distorted Sound | Gain set too high, improper crossover settings, poor quality audio source. | Reduce gain. Adjust LPF/HPF settings. Ensure audio source is clean. |
