Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your MetalTech scaffolding platform.
- Cleaning: Clean the frame and platform regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt, paint, or debris. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all welds, joints, and locking mechanisms for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Check caster wheels for smooth operation and ensure brakes are functional.
- Storage: Store the scaffolding in a dry, protected area when not in use to prevent rust and damage.
- Component Replacement: If any component is damaged or excessively worn, replace it immediately with genuine MetalTech parts. Do not attempt to repair damaged structural components.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your scaffolding platform.
- Scaffolding feels unstable or wobbly:
- Ensure all caster wheels are fully locked.
- Verify that the scaffolding is on a level surface. Use shims if necessary for minor unevenness.
- Check all frame connections and platform pins to ensure they are fully engaged and secure.
- If stacking multiple units, ensure proper cross-bracing and outriggers are used as per safety guidelines for increased height.
- Caster wheels are difficult to roll or lock:
- Clean any debris from the wheels and their axles.
- Apply a light lubricant to the wheel bearings and locking mechanisms if necessary.
- Inspect wheels for damage; replace if cracked or severely worn.
- Platform does not sit level after adjustment:
- Ensure both sides of the platform are adjusted to the same height increment.
- Verify that the securing pins are fully inserted into the corresponding holes on both sides.
