Setup

1. Installing Batteries

The VoiceTrek VN-8100PC operates on two AAA batteries.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the device (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Use alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Battery life is approximately 51 hours for recording and 44 hours for playback.

2. Initial Power On and Language Setting

  1. Press and hold the POWER button (if available, otherwise assume a general power-on method).
  2. Upon first power-on, the device may prompt you to set the date, time, and language. Follow the on-screen instructions using the navigation buttons.
  3. Select "English" for the language setting.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Recording

  1. To start recording, press the REC (Record) button. The recording indicator will light up, and the recording time will be displayed on the LCD.
  2. To pause recording, press the REC button again. Press it once more to resume.
  3. To stop recording, press the STOP button. The recorded file will be saved automatically.

2. Playback

  1. Navigate to the desired file using the Folder/Index button and the navigation arrows (<< / >>).
  2. Press the PLAY/OK button to start playback.
  3. To adjust volume, use the + and - buttons.
  4. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

The Scene Select Mode optimizes recording settings for different situations:

  3. Press OK to confirm.
