Product Overview

The Mitel 5320 IP Phone is a comprehensive, full-feature applications telephone designed for modern business communication. It features a large graphics display and eight self-labeling keys that can be programmed as speed dial keys, line keys, or feature access keys. Twelve fixed-function keys provide convenient one-touch access to commonly used telephony features, navigation keys and menus, as well as customizable user settings. The Mitel 5320 IP Phone also includes three contextual softkeys to help users easily navigate through telephony functions.

Setup

Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present:

• Mitel 5320 IP Phone unit
• Handset
• Handset cord
• Ethernet cable
• Power adapter (if not using Power over Ethernet - PoE)

Physical Connection

1. Connect the handset cord to the handset and the designated port on the phone unit.
2. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the "LAN" port on the back of the phone.
3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an active network port (e.g., wall jack or network switch).
4. If not using PoE, connect the power adapter to the phone's power input and then to a power outlet.

Initial Boot-up

Upon successful connection, the phone will power on and begin its boot-up sequence. The display will show various status messages as it connects to the network and registers with your communication system. This process may take a few minutes.

Operating Instructions

Basic Call Functions

• Making a Call: Lift the handset or press the Speaker button, then dial the number.
• Answering a Call: Lift the handset or press the Speaker button when the phone rings.
• Ending a Call: Replace the handset or press the Speaker button again.
• Hold: Press the Hold button during a call.
• Transfer: Press the Transfer button, dial the new number, and then press Transfer again.
• Conference: Press the Conference button, dial the next participant, and then press Conference again to join all parties.

Programmable Keys

The eight self-labeling keys on the left side of the display can be programmed for various functions, such as speed dials, line appearances, or feature access. Consult your system administrator for specific programming details.

Navigation and Menus

Use the navigation cluster (up, down, left, right arrows) and the contextual softkeys below the display to navigate through menus and access phone features. The display will show options relevant to the current context.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the phone, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the phone's surface and display. Ensure the phone is disconnected from power before cleaning.

Storage

Store the phone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
