Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the tuner.
2. Open the compartment cover.
3. Insert one C-type battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Attaching the Tuner to Your Instrument

1. Gently open the clip mechanism.
2. Attach the tuner securely to the headstock of your guitar or bass. Ensure it is firmly clipped but not overtightened to avoid damage to the instrument finish.
3. Adjust the display angle using the articulated joint for optimal viewing.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• Press and hold the PITCH button for approximately 2 seconds to turn the tuner ON or OFF.
• The tuner will automatically power off after 5 minutes of no signal input to conserve battery life.

2. Selecting Tuning Mode

• Press the FLAT/MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the available tuning modes:
  • G (Guitar): For standard guitar tuning.
  • B (Bass): For standard bass guitar tuning.
  • C (Chromatic): For tuning any instrument chromatically.

3. Flat Tuning Function

• In Guitar or Bass mode, press the FLAT/MODE button to activate flat tuning. Each press will lower the pitch by a semitone, up to 4 semitones (b, bb, bbb, bbbb).
• This feature allows you to tune your instrument to a lower pitch without changing the string tension significantly.

4. Adjusting A4 Frequency

• Press the PITCH button (short press) to adjust the A4 calibration frequency. The range is typically 410 Hz to 490 Hz.
• The default A4 frequency is usually 440 Hz. Adjust this if you are tuning with other instruments that use a different reference pitch.

5. Tuning Your Instrument

1. Pluck a single string on your instrument. The tuner will detect the vibration through the clip sensor.
2. The display will show the note name and a meter indicating whether the note is flat, sharp, or in tune.
3. Adjust your instrument's tuning peg until the needle on the display is centered and the note name turns green (or indicates 'in tune' according to the display).
4. Repeat for all strings.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the tuner with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or the tuner fails to power on. Always use a fresh C-type battery.
• Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Store the tuner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Avoid Impact: Protect the tuner from drops and impacts, which can damage the internal components or the display.
