Setup Instructions
- Unpack the Trash Can: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the trash can and its components.
- Choose a Location: Place the semi-round trash can against a wall or in a corner to maximize space efficiency. Ensure there is enough clearance for the lid to open fully.
- Install Trash Liner: Lift the lid. Place a simplehuman Code P custom fit liner (or a standard 13-gallon trash bag) around the rim of the inner bucket. Ensure the bag is fully extended and secured to prevent slippage.
Operating Instructions
- Using the Step Pedal: To open the lid, simply step firmly on the steel pedal at the base of the can. The lid will open smoothly.
- Silent Close Feature: When you release the pedal, the lid will close slowly and silently due to the integrated lid shox technology, preventing slamming.
- Stay-Open Lid: For longer tasks, such as scraping plates or extended cleaning, manually lift the lid until it locks into the fully open position. To close, gently push the lid down.
- Secure Slide Lock: To engage the lock, slide the silver latch located on the front of the lid towards the closed position. This will securely lock the lid, preventing accidental opening by pets or small children. To unlock, slide the latch back to the open position.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the trash can with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the finish.
- Liner Replacement: When the trash bag is full, lift the lid, remove the full bag, and replace it with a new simplehuman Code P liner or equivalent.
- OdorSorb System (if applicable): If your model includes an OdorSorb pod, replace it every 45 days for optimal odor control. The microporous membrane continuously releases a natural plant oil-based formula to neutralize trash odors.
