2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

Both the base station and the outdoor sensor require batteries for operation. Batteries are not included with the product.

  1. Outdoor Sensor: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the outdoor sensor. Insert 2 x AAA Micro LR03 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
  2. Base Station: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the base station. Insert 2 x AAA Micro LR03 batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.

Upon battery insertion, the base station will power on and attempt to establish a connection with the outdoor sensor. This process may take a few minutes.

2.2 Placement Recommendations

  • Base Station: The base station can be placed on a table using its integrated stand or wall-mounted. Choose a central location indoors, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to ensure accurate indoor temperature readings.
  • Outdoor Sensor: For the most accurate outdoor temperature measurements, place the sensor in a shaded area with good air circulation. Avoid direct sunlight, rain, or areas near heat-emitting devices. The maximum wireless range between the sensor and base station is approximately 30 meters (100 feet) in open air. Walls and other obstructions may reduce this range.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Initial Setup and Time/Date Setting

After battery installation, the base station will display default values. To set the time and date:

  1. Press and hold the SET / ALARM button for a few seconds to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the MAX / MIN button to adjust the flashing value (e.g., hour, minute, year, month, day).
  3. Press SET / ALARM again to confirm the setting and move to the next parameter.
  4. Repeat until all time and date settings are complete. The unit will automatically exit setting mode if no button is pressed for several seconds.

3.2 Temperature Display

  • The display shows both indoor ('IN') and outdoor ('OUT') temperatures simultaneously.
  • To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the °C / °F button.
  • To view the maximum and minimum recorded temperatures, press the MAX / MIN button. Pressing it once shows maximums, a second time shows minimums, and a third time returns to current temperatures.

3.3 Weather Forecast

The weather station provides a 6-12 hour weather forecast using four distinct symbols:

  • Sunny: Indicates clear skies.
  • Partly Cloudy: Suggests some cloud cover.
  • Cloudy: Denotes significant cloud cover.
  • Rainy: Forecasts precipitation.

The forecast is based on changes in atmospheric pressure and is an estimation. It may not always reflect immediate local conditions.

3.4 Alarm and Snooze Function

  • To set the alarm, press the SET / ALARM button once to display the alarm time. Press and hold SET / ALARM to enter alarm setting mode. Adjust using MAX / MIN and confirm with SET / ALARM.
  • To activate/deactivate the alarm, press the AL ON / OFF button. An alarm icon will appear on the display when activated.
  • When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to activate the 5-minute snooze function. The alarm will sound again after 5 minutes.
  • To stop the alarm completely, press any other button (e.g., SET / ALARM or MAX / MIN).

4. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the base station and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
  • Cleaning: Clean the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
  • Storage: If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No outdoor temperature reading:
    • Ensure both the base station and outdoor sensor have fresh batteries installed correctly.
    • Check that the outdoor sensor is within the effective wireless range of the base station.
    • Minimize obstructions (thick walls, metal objects, electronic devices) between the sensor and base station.
    • Try resetting both units by removing batteries, waiting a few minutes, and then reinserting them, starting with the outdoor sensor.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings:
    • Ensure the base station is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources indoors.
    • Ensure the outdoor sensor is placed in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  • Display is blank or dim:
    • Replace batteries in the base station.
