3. Operating Instructions
Filling the Pressure Cooker:
- Always add a minimum of 250 ml (approximately 1 cup) of liquid.
- Do not fill the cooker more than 2/3 full for most foods.
- For foods that expand (e.g., rice, dried vegetables), do not fill more than 1/2 full.

Closing the Lid:
Place the lid on the pot, aligning the arrow on the lid handle with the arrow on the pot handle. Rotate the lid handle clockwise until it clicks into the locked position. Ensure the lid is fully sealed before heating.
Setting Cooking Levels:
The Sicomatic e-Control features a control dial on the handle with three cooking levels:
- Level 1 (Gentle): For delicate foods like fish, vegetables, or fruits.
- Level 2 (Normal): For most meats, stews, and grains.
- Level 3 (Fast/Intensive): For very tough meats or foods requiring maximum cooking speed.
Turn the dial to select the desired cooking level before placing the cooker on the heat source.

Cooking Process:
- Place the closed pressure cooker on a suitable heat source.
- Heat on high until the selected cooking level indicator rises and stabilizes.
- Reduce heat to maintain the selected cooking level. Begin timing the cooking process from this point.
- Once cooking time is complete, remove the cooker from the heat.
Releasing Pressure:
There are two primary methods for releasing pressure:
- Natural Release: Allow the cooker to cool down naturally. The pressure indicator will drop on its own. This method is ideal for foods that benefit from continued cooking, such as stews and roasts.
- Quick Release: Carefully turn the control dial to the steam release position. Steam will escape rapidly. Use caution to avoid steam burns. This method is suitable for delicate foods that can overcook quickly.
Opening the Lid:
Only open the lid once all pressure has been released and the pressure indicator has fully dropped. Rotate the lid handle counter-clockwise to unlock and lift the lid away from you to avoid residual steam.
4. Care and Maintenance
Cleaning the Pot Body:
The pot body is dishwasher safe. For best results, remove any food residue before placing it in the dishwasher. Hand washing with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge is also suitable.
Cleaning the Lid and Handle:
The lid (without the handle) is dishwasher safe. The handle, which contains the e-Control mechanism, should be removed from the lid and hand-washed. To remove the handle, press the release button (if applicable) or follow the specific instructions in your detailed manual. Clean the handle under running water, ensuring all food particles are removed from the valve and mechanism.

Sealing Ring:
Regularly inspect the sealing ring for cracks or damage. Replace it if necessary to ensure proper pressure sealing. The sealing ring is typically dishwasher safe but can also be hand-washed.
Storage:
Store the pressure cooker with the lid inverted or slightly ajar to allow air circulation and prevent odors. Ensure all parts are completely dry before storage.
5. Troubleshooting
- Pressure not building: Ensure the lid is correctly closed and sealed. Check the sealing ring for damage or improper placement. Verify that enough liquid is in the pot.
- Lid difficult to open: Ensure all pressure has been released. Never force the lid open. If the pressure indicator is still up, allow more time for natural release or use the quick release method.
- Steam escaping from lid edge: Check the sealing ring for proper placement, damage, or wear. Ensure the lid is securely locked.
- Food not cooking properly: Verify that the correct cooking level was selected and maintained. Ensure the cooking time was appropriate for the food type.
