2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking

• Protective Cover/Tray
• Instruction Manual
• 2 x AAA Batteries (may be pre-installed or included separately)

2.2 Battery Installation

The scale requires two AAA batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
2. Gently slide open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.3 Initial Placement

For accurate readings, place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid placing it on soft, uneven, or vibrating surfaces, as this can affect precision.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

• To turn the scale ON, press the [⑂] button. The LCD display will illuminate and show "88888" then "0.0g" (or the last used unit).
• To turn the scale OFF, press and hold the [⑂] button for a few seconds. The scale also features an automatic shut-off function after approximately 60 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

3.2 Weighing Procedure

1. Ensure the scale is on a stable surface and powered on, displaying "0.0g".
2. Gently place the item to be weighed onto the center of the weighing platform.
3. Wait for the display to stabilize. The stable weight reading will be shown.

3.3 Unit Conversion

The scale supports multiple weighing units. To change the unit:

• Press the [UNIT] button repeatedly to cycle through the available units: grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct), pennyweights (dwt), and grains (gn).
• The selected unit will be displayed on the LCD screen.

3.4 Tare Function

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you can measure only the net weight of its contents.

1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
2. Press the [TARE] button. The display will reset to "0.0g".
3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the weight of the items.
4. To clear the tare, remove all items and the container from the platform, then press [TARE] again if the display does not return to zero automatically.

3.5 Counting Function (PCS)

The counting function allows you to count a large number of small, identical items.

1. Turn the scale on and ensure it displays "0.0g".
2. Press and hold the [PCS] button until "PCS" appears on the display.
3. Press the [UNIT] button to select a sample size (e.g., 10, 20, 50, 100 pieces).
4. Place the selected number of sample items onto the weighing platform.
5. Press the [PCS] button again to confirm the sample size. The display will show the number of pieces.
6. You can now add more items of the same type, and the scale will display the total count.
7. To exit counting mode, press the [PCS] button again.
