Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The unit can also be powered by a DC3V AC/DC adapter (not included) via the DC jack.

Operating Instructions

1. Loading a Micro Cassette

  1. Press the EJECT button to open the cassette compartment door.
  2. Insert a micro cassette tape with the open side facing the playback head.
  3. Gently close the cassette compartment door until it clicks into place.

2. Recording

  • Standard Recording: Press the RECORD button. The LED recording indicator will illuminate. Speak clearly into the built-in microphone.
  • Voice Activated System (VAS): To enable VAS, slide the VAS switch to the 'ON' position. The recorder will automatically start recording when sound is detected and pause when silence occurs. The LED indicator will show recording activity.
  • To stop recording, press the STOP button.

3. Playback

  • Press the PLAY button to begin playback. Audio will be heard through the built-in speaker.
  • Speed Control: Use the 2-speed control switch to adjust the playback speed as desired.
  • Pause: Press the PAUSE button to temporarily stop playback. Press it again to resume.
  • Fast Forward/Rewind: Use the F.FWD (Fast Forward) and REW (Rewind) buttons to navigate through the tape.
  • To stop playback, press the STOP button.

4. Using External Devices

  • Headphones: Connect 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack for private listening.
  • External Microphone: Connect an external microphone to the microphone jack for alternative audio input.

Maintenance

  • Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Regularly clean the tape heads and pinch roller with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to ensure optimal sound quality and prevent tape damage.
  • Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Store the recorder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting
