Setup Guide
1. Unpacking and Placement:
Carefully remove the AV7005 from its packaging. Ensure all accessories are present. Place the unit on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
2. Connecting Speakers and Amplifiers:
The AV7005 is a pre-processor and requires external power amplifiers to drive speakers. Connect the pre-out jacks of the AV7005 to the corresponding input jacks on your power amplifiers using high-quality RCA cables. Ensure correct channel matching (e.g., Front Left pre-out to Front Left amplifier input).
3. Connecting Audio/Video Sources:
- HDMI Connections: Connect your HDMI-enabled devices (Blu-ray player, game console, cable box) to the HDMI IN ports on the rear panel. Use the HDMI OUT ports to connect to your TV or projector. The AV7005 supports 3D pass-through.
- Analog Audio: For devices with analog audio outputs, connect them to the appropriate analog audio input jacks (e.g., CD, AUX).
- Digital Audio: Connect optical or coaxial digital audio sources to the corresponding digital audio input jacks.
- USB: Connect a USB memory device or an iPhone/iPod to the front panel USB port for music playback.
4. Network Connection:
Connect the AV7005 to your home network using an Ethernet cable for access to internet radio and network streaming features. Alternatively, use the optional RX10 Bluetooth adapter for wireless connectivity.
5. Power Connection:
Once all connections are made, plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the rear of the unit and then into a wall outlet. Do not power on the unit until all connections are secure.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation:
- Power On/Off: Press the ON/STANDBY button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
- Input Selection: Use the INPUT SELECTOR knob on the front panel or the input buttons on the remote control (e.g., HDMI, CD, USB) to select your desired audio/video source.
- Volume Control: Adjust the master volume using the VOLUME knob on the front panel or the VOLUME +/- buttons on the remote control.

2. Audyssey Room Correction:
The AV7005 features Audyssey MultEQ XT for automatic room acoustic calibration. It is highly recommended to perform this setup for optimal sound performance. Connect the supplied Audyssey microphone to the front panel jack and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Network Features:
- Internet Radio: Access thousands of internet radio stations via v-Tuner.
- Network Music/Photo Streaming: Stream music and photos from your PC or NAS drive (DLNA/UPnP compatible).
- Online Streaming Services: Access supported services like Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody (availability may vary by region).
- Marantz Remote App: Control the AV7005 using your iPhone/iPod Touch with the dedicated Marantz Remote App.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power cord before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not blocked. Proper airflow is crucial to prevent overheating.
